The technology subreddit is actually very anti-technology in general I’ve noticed. Case in point, the anti-cult of personality around here with some people dominating so much.

This particular project could enhance many human lives in ways previously locked behind the category of science fiction. Let’s just slap the big scary names of some investors on this thing to get the clicks.

Of course bad rich people are involved with financing. That’s how capitalism works. There is no ethical ultra rich capitalist. They all do horrible things to become and remain rich and powerful because they do not create anything; only take and hoard. Naturally their involvement is bad, but it isn’t the tech that is bad. It’s the economics. It’s the politics.

Throw a French style party and let near fully paralyzed people independently mobilize operate to some extent again without the subtext being “how is this going to be used to enslave the entire colony of worker ants.”

I feel like all they need to do is add a lot of cool classes and mixed classes, and just do what they did with Diablo 3 DLC into the main game and expand from there.

Let’s hope execs don’t fuck it up

Definitely not. Facebook saw all the idiots buying Twitter Blue and decided to also get the money for their own platform. People use Facebook and Instagram (and Twitter) for $0, and now even if 1 person buys it every month, it’s worth it. $12 for Facebook to provide almost nothing extra.

They do have 10G, truly meant for business, via Full duplex fiber with DOCSIS 4.0.

They're just marketing the 10G shit at residential customers, esp. gamers & gen z'ers who want to be the coolest, and more so because of their customers' ignorance & "dependance" 🙄on the Internet.

You can't use 10G in residential, unless you have a business grade network, CE doesn't support 10G speed.

Edit: quotes on dependence for sarcasm

6 years now of republicans not doing their jobs. Chasing their tails with the propaganda they created. Like when are they actually going to do something for us? All they care about is getting elected and pandering to the white minority groups. It’s really getting old at this point. 2023 and humans still playing political games over skin color.

Honestly it wouldn't matter to me if it was just cosmetics. Part of the enjoyment of a game like Diablo is looking like a badass while you're going through the game destroying hordes of creatures. A battlepass that's cosmetic only just incentivizes lazy and unappealing cosmetic designs in the base game.

I'd rather that aspect of the game not be piecemealed out and used as incentive to pay for a battlepass or stay engaged. Just sell a complete game. Start working on DLC that will incentivize future purchases or an expansion of the game. Leave it at that.

Fairly confident their player base would be infinitely happier with that methodology. At a bare minimum I would.

>We make great software because it takes very little infrastructure to get started and no airports / seaports / road infrastructure is needed to export it.

Infrastructure like roads/ports need to be built by your own government. China invested into its own infrastructure. The West invested into their own factories.

You can't expect the West to build your infrastructure for you.
