What shows have "Caught the Shark" as opposed to "Jumped the Shark"? i.e. They made a choice that looks Big and Bad and Misplaced and it ended up working (inspired by Fargo FX series. Major spoiler safely redacted in body of post)

I was watching DVD special features for season 2 of Fargo and Patrick Wilson says about >!the arrival of the UFO during the shootout !< that some were worried they were "jumping the shark" but how he felt they had "caught the shark" which is the first time I've heard this antonym of the idiom.

I really liked the concept and it got me wondering of other possible examples of this phenomenon.

So what do y'all think? What are some show's that made a big choice that could've spoilt the whole thing but ended up working out fine, or even bettering the series?
