I don't mean your Game of Thrones where 3/8 of the show was pretty bad. I'm talking about shows that were that close to achieving greatness, but fumbled the ball so bad so extremely close to the end that their legacy has become that of uncertainty/utterly awful. A show I can currently think of is Attack on Titan. It was this close to achieving a legacy as one of the greatest anime of all time. Unfortunately, manga-wise the end of the story became strange at best and parody-esque/nonsensical at worst. What other TV shows match such a close-finish disappointment?
