I’m sure the show itself is perfectly fine on its quality, and I have no doubt that Jenna Ortega does an excellent job in the lead role, but is the show as phenomenal and culturally resonant as it’s popularity would suggest? Better Call Saul, Game of Thrones, Avatar the Last Airbender, in addition to their tremendous popularity are works of art, which in my opinion is what justifies their success. Is Wednesday as good as the numbers would imply? Is it better than all of the quality shows that Netflix has cancelled? Over The OA? Archive 81? Warrior Nun? 1899?? Does it deserve to be the most viewed show in Netflix history? As someone who hasn’t watched the show and has no desire to give Netflix any more of their money after they canceled 4 shows I loved, I require unbiased opinions.

Edit: To everyone before and after, I apologize for the nature of this post. It was sincerely not my intent to come across as pretentious, pedantic or entitled but given the general response, I attribute full responsibility to myself. I had no right to demonstrate my opinion in a context that supposed it as fact, and a greater degree of nuance that I now hope I have would’ve made this post not nearly as egregiously inflammatory. The shows I think are good do not matter. My thoughts are arbitrarily defined and objectively worthless, and I again apologize for implying that wasn’t the case. To everyone I frustrated I apologize. I was wrong. All the derision I received was deserved, and I should never have made this post. I’m sorry.
