I feel like I'm about to share an unpopular opinion but I'm super curious to check other people's views on this.

First of all, I first knew about Jennifer Coolidge through American Pie and I considered her basically a caricature of the "hot mom" that guys' friends have a crush on.

After that, I saw her in '2 broke girls' and I came to the conclusion that her acting is pretty much one note. Once again she played a sexy (in this case Russian) woman that was over the top.

The most recent role I've seen her in are the two seasons of the 'White Lotus' and I was extremely shocked to see people saying she deserved an emmy! Now that her role required a bit more subtlety, I could see how much she lacked as an actress. She continuously fell in the same style of acting she used for her previous characters and I found it to be extremely cringy. I mean, if we look specifically at her crying scenes, it seems like she's doing a parody. I understand part of it is due to the fact that the character is very over the top and kind of cartoonish but she's not believable as a real person at all.

What does everyone think? Am I missing something? I mean she isn't the worst actress in the world, but going so far to say that she deserves an emmy for her performance is a bit too much the way I see it.
