One of the joys of the Jack Ryan stories was more that it was this desk based guy who got put in field circumstances and just had to deal with it.
The current Amazon version is turning him into an action packed field agent. The badies never miss but Ryan is a crack shot doing pseudo parkour around the towns.
It's very different from Harrison Ford's version, one of my favourites, and still a decent way off of the others.
We don't need carbon copy action agents. We need something different and I think the slightly awkward Ryan, smart but out of his depth a little in the field is a much better option.
I am still enjoying it but it's just my personal opinion.
