The biggest heroes in the show's universe are really the biggest villains.
> slow burn series tend to have people lose interest really fast.
I don't know if that's true. For example, in Game of Thrones, the White Walkers had their first pitched battle with the humans in season 8. The show took its time to build to that moment, and the tension and the expectation was extraordinary.
The show then blew it by rushing through the 8th season, which completely ruined the show's reputation, in part by moving way too fast.
I think there's a balance. The long periods where Danaerys did nothing were mostly boring.
But for a while the White Walker's were some of the best villains on television because they took their time to build them up.
I want something that takes its time to be good. The Lockwood and Co books built up the mythology over a series. The biggest twist in the series shouldn't be given away in the first 15 minutes.

Reply to I think Velma was written badly on purpose. by 2Bit_Dev
Internet needs to vent their hatred onto something and Velma was the next in line. The internet version of The Purge I might say. Rings of Power suffered the same. And no I won't watch both shows because I'm not familiar with both franchise anyway.

Thank you so much for explaining.

Very much agreed.

I guess that's ok sometimes, but I don't find it too relatable.

I don’t know, I think this is just the worst picture of him imaginable for this post.

It's a detective show, it's about murder and deception, it's supposed to be dark.
You should check out Murderville though, it's hilarious.

Probably cliche’ but damn, The Office. Not only were comedy greats like Greg Daniels and Mike Schur on the team, but the object of making (UK)US office-based humor plausible and applicable would have been so fun. Skirting the line at every possible juncture…

The obvious answer is Seinfeld. There’s not been another show with as much cultural impact and the ideas they came up with are still in use 30 years on (like double dipping)

Remember Class. That was a great show. I never watched any Doctor Who but I stumbled on the last season of Torchwood and Class and had a great time.

Your spoiler tags can't have spaces.
The show has a very frustrating air of everything is unfair and the mains are powerless. Somehow they maintain that talking to each other. They can't stop to breath, and if they stop to listen to each other, they will die or something.
Everybody is unlikeable. Seems like a trend in modern media.

and it's weird how I imagine that if I was in the room for "Star Trek: Deep Space Nine", I'd be very "shut up and just learn and listen. what a privilege to be here!"
while in a room for "Star Trek: Voyager", I'd be very "hehe, they are limiting themselves SO much and I want to know what assholes and what fears are responsible for that."

The Other Two.
the show had a short aftershow, "The Other Show", and the showrunner duo (Sarah Schneider and Chris Kelly) seemed fun. before that (and for similar reasons) "Ugly Betty": fun, somewhat cosmopolitan shows where people want to make smart and often queer observations about contemporary culture.

Between Dan Harmon and Chevy Chase I would have loved to see the clash of comedic egos go at it.

It just dropped on Netflix, two days ago or something. I am ep. four. It isn't too bad, but it could be better.
Fantasy ghost hunter show.
