It needs to play often enough people know what it is and don’t panic, but not so often it becomes ignored. Additionally, that tone gets picked up EAS systems which do certain things with it within the broadcast system. So just playing it randomly could potentially affect those systems in more ways than just the tone simply playing.

Yes he was definitely an actor that was good on that show and had to leave for some reason I don't really care about because it's not relevent to this post

I LOVE Severance. Cannot stand Mr. Robot.
Personally i hate shows that go all-in on the unreliable narrator. Ret-conning events because the narrator lied does not mean you are being clever, it just means i shouldn’t trust anything i see, in that case why tf should i care.
I like using a puzzle analogy. A good mystery gives you puzzle pieces but doesn’t tell you what the picture looks like. You can tell which obvious pieces go together but not exactly what it means, as the story goes on the picture becomes more clear and you get an earned “ah-ha”. A bad mystery gives you pieces and the picture but when you start putting it together it flips the board and says “hah got you! You’re so confused right now!” Then you just sit there staring at a giant mess until they just explain what the puzzle was all along.

Given that they could have used a slightly different tone and not get a fine, it still seems like a decent enough deterrent.

Reply to comment by reddit455 in Serious question, does anyone think AI could replace voice actors that have either passed away or otherwise left a series? by [deleted]
Yeah. Like, I'm pretty sure JEJ gave them permission to recreate his voice. And even so, it's not like it's a hard voice to recreate. They got a different guy to voice him in Fallen Order, for example. But because of the sound mixing and such involved in making Vader's voice all robotic and deep, you can hardly tell the difference.

Except by Season 2, you're only there to break story, and Sorkin is writing all the teleplays. And if you're writing the teleplay, then he's usually re-writing it ("and" means a rewrite, "&" means a collaboration).

You saved me no such click. The Register is worthy of anybody's read, and the article was informative.

I think people just want TV to have some character again. Streaming has taken A LOT of the fun out of watching TV. Sure it's super easy, like ordering everything you need on Amazon but that doesn't mean people don't miss the days of hanging out at the mall

Crawford was great on that show. It's Wayans who should've never been hired. I don't understand why they keep employing those Wayans guys. I don't recall any of them ever being funny.

John Haymes Newton, who played the Boy of Steel in S1 of the syndicated Superboy show, was let go by the showrunners for S2 and replaced by Gerard Christopher.
