Not credited like that. I don't think there are other showrunners "like Sorkin".

Most showrunners don't take the "written by" credit on every episode. Those who do generally aren't using a room (e.g., Hugo Blick), or do their pass uncredited (e.g., Joss Whedon on Buffy).

And there are some showrunners who are the exact opposite; e.g., Jerry Juhl insisted on Fraggle Rock that every word that ended up on screen be written by whoever had their name on the writer's credit. If that meant they had to keep rewriting it themselves until he was happy with it, so be it.

Every writers' rooms breaks a story together as a group. But most aren't working for only one of the writers to pump out all the scripts, or for everyone to be heavily rewritten by that one writer every episode.

I personally loved it. Best shot show in all of television (particularly seasons 3 and 4), takes a lot of risks that have huge payoffs, emotionally satisfying, tense, and the literal best last 5 seconds of any show I've watched. If you like severance there's a very good chance you'll get into Mr robot. It sucks it didn't get the recognition I think it deserves outside of reddit.

A retcon is any retroactive continuity regardless of whether it contradicts information that came before or not. If new information is treated as having always been true, it’s technically a retcon.

Though technically the Vader thing is kind of a retcon that contradicts previous information since the previous movie said Anakin was killed by Vader. (This is especially the case with that example since it wasn’t Lucas’s original plan for Vader to be Anakin.)

However OP is presumably asking about TV retcons, so it wouldn’t count on those grounds.

>I think it is funny that these "offensive" comedians (Burr, Barr, Chappelle) turned into whiny bitches at the smallest sign of rocky waters...

I wonder why comedians are upset that people are trying to have their careers derailed by lunatics who can't stand free speech. What a conundrum.

There are even some morons who are trying to change the definition of freedom of speech do that it only applies to the government. All they do is show their own ignorance and lack if intelligence as they've clearly never heard of Salman Rushdie.

Insane to think how Reddit used to be pro-free speech and anti-censorship.

>meanwhile Winkler was laughed at by the JumpTheShark fad for fucking years and years, he just shrugged that shit off and made great comedy.

What even is this comparison? How is that comparable all?

All they need to say is I'm blessed that I was able to get a start because of the contacts I have because of my family and acknowledge that I have privilege that others don't have which helped me get started.

We know you work hard, and that your talent is there. You also got your agent and initial auditions because of who you knew and it would have taken a lot longer for you to get started if you hadn't been rich and connected.

Even someone who barely has any nepotism like Meghan Markle (whose father worked behind the scenes) had knowledge of how to get agents and how the entire system worked (and a lack of student loans) that someone whose parents were factory workers or teachers in the midwest wouldn't have.

Do you think being cancelled means getting thrown into a gulag and never being heard from again?

She was killed off from a sitcom she brought back, named after her, and she had to give up any future earnings from it so that other people could keep their jobs.

edit: forgot this board is very pro-cancel culture and likes to pretend it doesn't exist
