I wouldn't agree with that. Data routinely went to Picard for a lot of things. Picard's the man who was teaching him humanity through acting. The man who stood between Data and Starfleet first when they wanted to experiment on Data, then when they wanted to experiment on his daughter. Data was more than anyone else responsible for saving Picard from the Borg. And Data sacrificed himself to save Picard's life.

Some thoughts on Apple, which I follow more:

I don't think Ted Lasso will be eligible for this year. I think they only open in June or July.

Shrinking is a comedy series; As far as I know it's not a limited series.

I think Apple should invest in Shrinking and Hello Tomorrow in comedy (The Academy likes Billy Crudup).

I think the limited series categories are going to be extremely dependent on The Masters of the Air. If it's good, the Academy will love to award a really big, big-budget show with an A-list team behind it.

Extrapolations has a strong cast (Maryl Streep, Sienna Miller, Matthew Rhys, Tobey Maguire, Edward Norton, Keri Russell...), but I don't think the episodic anthology has a chance.

It also doesn't line up with his downplaying of River's mental talents, when he's been expressly told by the project head that she was a psychic. But it makes perfect sense if you consider he's trying to cover that fact up, along with the lengths that he went to to break her out.

Parks and Rec - 1st season is mediocre but I don’t think it should be skippped.

Just be aware that it gets better.

The Leftovers - It starts somewhat confusing as it plays like a mystery box show, but it becomes one of my all time favorite series probably by halfway through the first season.

Mad Men - It gives the appearance of boring but it is not. Don Draper is an all time great character

Underground Railroad - It is discussed in terms of brutality but it’s actually a very hopeful show so the tough scenes are routinely offset by happier one.
