Dang it! Let The Right One In deserved at least 2 seasons. I hope someone else picks it up and gives it new life, maybe HBO or Netflix.

Not saying they don't make a ludicrous amount of money off of it, but they don't broadcast NFL every week of the year, so it wouldn't be 100M * 52.

Reply to Poker Face is so fun! by TheHadalZone
Really digging it so far! Natasha Lyonne is fabulous. Great guest stars, well written and directed, doesn’t take itself too seriously. A total joy. It’s really nice to pair with The Last of Us, since that show is so heavy, it’s nice to have a lighter show as well.
Also if one of this shows goals is to make people interested in other shows like it, for example Columbo, then it’s been very successful. I’ve been really wanting to start Columbo over the past few days.

I watched the first episode and really liked it. I’m someone who really only watches Columbo and Murder She Wrote and Matlock so I was nervous but I heard someone say that those shows influenced Poker Face so I gave it a shot. My only gripe with it is that I wished they played down her lie detecting ability a little bit. Of course now that I say that it was interesting watching the killer try to deal with her when he knows that he can’t tell a lie…

I'm surprised this wasn't further up. There's even a term for characters who are written out of a show early in its run: They're being sent to "Mandyville."

Reply to comment by huskersax in What are some shows that were advertised to one demographic, but became successful outside of the target demographic? by blqckwidow
The original Avatar was a much bigger show than the LoK no? I liked Korra, but it was very much a follow up to ATLA iirc. But yes. ATLA was well received by adults, partly because it does deal with quite a lot of mature concepts at times (while also being quite silly as well to appeal to kids)

I was reading an interview with Samuel L. Jackson once and he said that he says "Yes" to pretty much everything. I've seen his name on some direct-to-video stinkers over the years and was wondering why he, of all people, would sign on to shit like that? He said a similar thing in the interview, that before he finally made it big, there were many days where the phone didn't ring and he never forgot it, and doesn't take for granted that it won't happen again.

I don’t know if this is a example but whatever happened to Laura’s little sister on “Family Matters?” She just up and disappeared and no one said anything and then the little boy was introduced

This show is SO good and Season 2 was even better than the first. It's just the most warm, wholesome, entertaining, and fun show on TV.
So happy that it got renewed for another season!

Isn’t Tehran someone else’s production, and Apple only has US distribution rights? That would make sense, since someone else is going to be making the final renewal/cancellation decision.

That is pretty much the viewership numbers for anything that is not Billions, Dexter, Your Honor, or Yellowjackets in the last 3 years.
I’ll absolutely miss both American Gigolo and Let The Right One In.

Probably all of them. I don’t know the laws there but here cops have some sort of rule to only have 1 unit on at a time, something like that.

Reply to ‘Tuca & Bertie‘ Creator and More Condemn Warner Bros Discovery Merger: It ’Cost Us the Support We Needed to Thrive’ by MarvelsGrantMan136
While there are some valid points in the article and I agree with the overall message, Tuca and Bertie got 3 seasons, which is more than many other shows get, if they see the light of day at all. Idk why you’d squander the good will you might’ve had from that by trashing a service. Good luck getting hired for future projects there or even other services. Who wants to be associated with a negative Nancy that brings you bad press?

To be fair to Lindelof when The Leftovers was first airing he explicitly made clear even during promo interviews the audience should not expect answers! If the creator outright tells you that, I see that as fair.

Wow. That was very close to what I remember. Memory could be wrong, but the promo I remember very curtly ended with maybe 5 seconds of info about the US release of 28 Days Later. I remember being livid about it
Did this air on TV? I must know more
