I was very excited to hear about this adaptation coming, but I was turned off when I learned it wouldn't be a limited series (one season) and wouldn't cover the whole book in one go. It's not a long book, one full season would have been great. I heard they did, what, not even 50% of it? Disappointing.

It took me a bit to get into, but I got to the point where I looked forward to getting home to watch it and got invested with the characters. The story structure is a lot like 911 where it’s them responding to various calls throughout rather than a single case with the occasional episode focusing on a single plot.

If you’ve watched Castle, it’s the same producer

Yeah, I'm getting right into the procedurals of late. Late last year I think I just needed some mindless drama and getting into a new series was becoming seriously difficult given it was the end of the year for work (I'm in Australia so summer break has just passed).

I might give The Rookie a go as well. It looks alright.

Chicago Med/PD/Fire are all set in the same universe. Created by Dick Wolf (Law & Order).

I've enjoyed it so far. The metal band episode was good but the music they played... I'm not a metal gatekeeper or anything but I don't understand how there was nobody at all anywhere near the set who found it in them to explain that what they were singing wasn't metal by any stretch of the term.

Not a dealbreaker because the story itself was cute the same way of Poker Face has been so far (that is, cute in a macabre sort of way) but it's one of those things.
