why is it garbage? Because it had a different point of view? Are we just supposed to all agree on something and nobody is allowed to have a different opinion? At least he wrote a lengthy, detailed criticism of the episode to back up his point. If you don't agree with it that's fine but saying its "absolute garbage" comes off as defensive and doesn't even really make sense

I thought it was a fantastic episode that successfully added an emotional depth to the show to take this up a few more notches over other shows like TWD, FTWD, etc. The first episode was great, last week's felt pretty "paint by zombie numbers", while still being a good episode, but this week gave Joel purpose(if you will) and humanized everyone a little more. I'd gladly watch more of Bill & Frank if the showrunners wanted to give it to us, they were great and my heart broke for them.

Was this the greatest episode of TV ever produced? No. Is it the greatest episode of TV from the last year? Possibly not even that, but maybe? There are obviously details of this episode that have the propaganda arms of the press screaming its praises from the rooftops disingenuously, but that should not detract from how good of an episode it really was. I'm not going out and scheduling an emergency talk session with my therapist over it due to loving it so much (as one friend on FB randomly gloated Sunday night), but I'm definitely going to be watching it again before next episode simply because I enjoyed it so much.

I feel like it's brought a lot of people to television who typically don't watch. I've seen most of the prestige shows of the past few decades and I didn't find anything in the episode particularly surprising or interesting. Given the budget and actors and writers involved, this episode was always going to be solid but I don't think its anything groundbreaking.

It's a great show, but nothing groundbreaking like the media and reddit make it out to be. Episode 3 itself is nothing amazing; it's just a good episode.

I think people are a little too emotional. Again, it's a great show and I would be 100% if the teen died. She's boring as hell and I think the worst part of the show.

You know you can clean a house right

And you know that a wine store probably has 1,000’s of wine in stock and if there is only one customer in the entire world, then basically that person has 1,000’s of wine

Did you close your eyes during the montage that showed how he got the power and stuff?

Or that the dude is a crafty survivalists?

I swear to god some of y’all like half watch these shows and then pop off the lamest criticisms

PREACH!

This type of stuff is better suited to guilty wypipo imo. They can feel good because they aren't slavemasters and their lives aren't as shitty as the child laborers in the Congo mining their cobalt for iPhones/Teslas/etc. - I mean, not as shitty as the slaves who ONLY existed hundreds of years ago.

Its not a mystery who did it, but how she's going to figure it out or catch them in a lie. I saw somewhere else its not a "whodunnit", but a "howcatchem". I like seeing how she integrates herself with the victim and perpetrators, and that we also know things are a lie when she does. I still think that's clever.

I think Shantaram really messed things up for Apple in that regard. To make an announcement mere hours before the season finale was released (that ended in “To Be Continued” no less) saying it would not be renewed was a pretty lousy move IMHO.

It’s left us questioning every new show from them now (eg Echo 3).

They all overhear that the area their bar is in is worth a ton of money in real estate so they all try to figure out how they can prove they're the sole owner and find/forge deeds so they can sell the bar and claim a fortune, spend the whole episode screwing each other over, only to find that Frank already sold the bar and fled south to enjoy his golden years in Mexico and upon their return to the bar's street, are shown that it's now in the midst of being demolished along with other buildings on the block to make way for a ton of cute shops and restaurants causing them all to just stand there and wonder what to do next.
