I loved every minute of Lost . even the ending while being ok wasnt enough to dampen the experience

It's very good. The last season gets a lot of flak but it's still a very good show overall.

The Americans has been on my list for years, near the top. I just haven’t had the time to binge watch shows as much until this past year.
I’ve heard nothing but phenomenal things about it.
May have to give that a watch

If you've never seen it, and are ok with it not really answering all of the questions it poses, Lost is a great binge. It's way better if you go into it blind. It's a fun watch.

Lost had one of the absolute best pilot episodes I’ve ever seen, just completely hooked from the first 5 minutes. It got weird at the end, but the first several seasons were top notch. Lost was the first water cooler show I can remember. The day after a new EP aired, that’s all me and my coworkers would talk about.
Deadwood is top 5 TV, definitely definitely worth your time. It’s VERY vulgar language wise, but phenomenal show.
May I also recommend The Americans if you haven’t seen it? My favorite show ever (not THE best show ever, but my fave). So so good.

>Huge fan of mysteries and characters dying suddenly (or any shocking twists and turns etc)
Absolutely watch Lost then.

Thanks! I’m a huge fan of character studies, and well written dialogue as well. Think i might check out deadwood first.
Besides disliking the ending, are the 100+ episodes leading up to it worth watching? I can handle a shitty ending if I enjoyed the rest of the show

I think you’d like it. I prefer Watchmen though

I watched lost as it aired and hated the end. I rewatched it and liked it a lot more. I think it benefits from bingeability.
Deadwood is amazing but more character and dialogue driven.

The worst is when that "crazy scene" is misleading and isn't even that crazy in context.

I always feel like they do it because the episode ended up seeming too boring otherwise.

It’s so unnecessary.

It's been done on plenty of shows where I've tolerated it, Breaking Bad included, but as a rule I get immediately put off by the 'open on a crazy scene then cut to [three] [days] earlier' format. Feels so obnoxious.

The amount of bourbon everyone drank on justified. I just thought it was funny as it was so OTT.

What do you mean by filler shots in Breaking Bad? Like the time lapses of the sun going across the sky and stuff?
I love Breaking Bad but to be fair it's a very slow-paced show. The scripts are just as long as any 45 minute show (about 50-60 pages), but sometimes half of those pages are just describing rooms or specific shots.

Made sense to me.
It’s not supposed to mimic historical accuracy. It’s just a what if action drama show.
I get that you didn’t like it but I’m just saying I did.

come on. nothing made sense. the whole script was just horrible. they defied reality as much as steven seagal does in his movies. that whole hitler plot was just dumb as hell. the trial was even worse. i do not mind it is not historical accurate, but at least come up with a convincing script that leads to that point. the whole action scene when raiding the compound was just as bad as a steven seagal movie. completely void of any reality at all. same for when hitler escaped.
i actually wonder if the trial of hitler was to be compared to the real trial that happened of Ivan the terrible. this was the first and only trial in Israel which was public and where ivan was defended by a jew as well, but actually walked free, because they could not convince the court that the person they had, was actually ivan.

Imho some of the mysteries in Lost don't fully pay off, but it was still a good show.
