I liked CODA but you're right, not the strongest year. I imagine it won by getting a lot of 2nd places. If I were voting I'd have ranked them:
-
Power of the Dog
-
Drive My Car
-
CODA
-
Licorice Pizza
-
West Side Story
-
Duen
-
Don't Look Up
-
King Richard
-
Nightmare Alley
-
Belfast
Although there are some other movies I liked more. Red Rocket, The Lost Daughter, The Worst Person in the World, After Yang would rank higher than most of those.

I was in the minority I know, but I really liked the BSG finale. I mean, the entirety of the story had religious and biblical references and allegories, and the ending felt fitting. I get that a lot of people didn't like it.

I think there is another issue that is a bit along similar lines. Once you get away from origin stories you aren't really showing a world we live in anymore. For the first part of Iron Man it felt like, hey this could really happen, yknow?

Introduce mutants and have a movie about someone trying to get an A in their Organic Chemistry class at Xavier's (Jean Grey's) School for the Gifted. Villains try to stop heroes from remembering how to draw Benzene molecule. Scott Lang teaches Avogadro's number.

It's incredibly disappointing when you can unethically obtain "free" versions of shows or movies that offer a higher quality viewing experience than you would obtain by paying for the same content.

Battlestar, for sure. Felt like they got all the eay to the end and ran out of ideas.

> Crazy how few folks on Reddit realise the truth of this.
Reddit is so polarized about Disney it is almost impossible to have a sane conversation. Either they hate everything the mouse does or they love it and that doesn't leave a lot of room for discussion.

Doing the right thing because you had no other options is a thing. I won't stand up and cheer but at least it is the right result.

Disney plus is really bad too. All these platforms should poach some Netflix staff.

I mean, CODA won best picture that year. Wasn’t a particularly strong year

Huh you’re right. I guess Andor does have a shot if the Emmy voters can look past their Succession bias.

I don't think any actors from The Rings of Power have a chance in hell of being nominated.

Apple for me, it's truly dreadful and crashes every single time. At least P+ is super smooth, at least on my tv
