The trailer definitely gave off this vibe, god I wish they did a season 2 of Bodyguard.

Season 2 currently airing is actually fixing that problem. The season is 20 (I think) episodes long so things move a lot slower as far as the central plot goes, and we get a lot more of the cast just hanging out in both normal and silly scenarios.

I'm liking it so far, but getting real "Eagle Eye" vibes.

There's some pretty over-the-top stuff (a man gets killed by a walrus in a "nature's revenge fantasy") and it's far from subtle, but there are storylines underneath all that that feel more real and plausible. Not finished it yet but I'm pretty sure I will despite the issues.

It's terrible. The dude who played Toby in the office is the show runner, which explains a lot. It's just the most mediocre dramadey I've seen in years. Poor Bob probably got sidelined in a bad contract and forced to do this.

He needs to do more movies. Nobody 2 has to happen.

Poker face was too formulaic - too network TV - for my taste - buyt I like old girl in it, and it was fine. I think that Peacock/NBC Universal though has some good product. I definitely enjoyed The Resort.

There’s also the fact that gradually we discovered the gang on HIMYM were all unreliable narrators and (mostly) endearingly scummy. The characters on HIMYF were a little too… okay in the first season. They weren’t unhinged or morally ambivalent.

Season 2 has washed the bloom off the characters in an appealing way. Sophie’s no antihero, she’s clearly a protagonist, but she’s gone from a hopeless romantic in S1, to a hopeless romantic who happens to be a bit of a loser with a drinking problem and zero self-awareness.

To use an obscure Disney analogy, kids were bored with Doug Funnie because he was just slightly better than you. But kids naturally latched onto Pepper Ann because she’s just slightly worse than you.

He is on the new season of The Morning Show. It was announced shortly after that ad.
