I resubbed last month to rewatch season 1 before season 2 came out and I also watched Your Honor. That’s a pretty good show. There’s a couple others on there that have my interest peaked.

Or even Paramount Plus.
I watched the first season all at once when there was a sale on showtime. It was the only thing on the network.
Are this many people paying $8-11 a month for Showtime?

It was fun. A bit trash, a bit ridiculous, and I'n onboard.

Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is one favorite new shows the last couple of years, it's so good.
Anson Mount is fantastic as the lead.
Also Star Trek Prodigy is very good as well!
It's the cheapest service that I have, but I feel like it punches higher than its price.

Holy shit I JUST tried to watch that show. I put it on, watched two minutes, hated it, switched over to Reddit and saw this question.

Because of the usual reason a franchise becomes big, a lot of people watch and enjoy it.

They are also banking heavily on Sheridan in general. All his shows do tend to attract a certain audience and as long as the viewership holds, Paramount will continue to produce these “average” shows.

The tension is kind of lost when they don't define how many survivors there actually are and if most of the narrative engine driving the flashbacks is "Who will die?" it loses meaning if we can just pull new people out of thin air.

On paper it has some intense competition. AMC has just never been able to cash in on Better Call Saul and it has a multi-headed hydra of top shelf HBO stuff to go up against. The White Lotus, House of the Dragon, Succession and The Last of Us plus everything else.
I’d still go with BCS if only because they never got a win but I wouldn’t be shocked if they got snubbed.

>Seasons are shorter, so every episode exists to move the plot forward.
My favourite sitcoms are You're The Worst and Catastrophe. Both are short when compared to HIMYM and still able to add fillers or an episode or two that focuses on just one side character. Shit writers is the real problem.

Paramount plus is going franchise heavy right now. And its a big hit so they're all in on it as long as people keep watching. Also a lot (all?) of the prequels were one offs, so they don't have to worry about multiple season deals.

Silicon Valley and veep were also great plot driven sitcoms.

Paramount green-lit the expansion of the Yellowstone franchise after the original Yellowstone became by far the top rated show, in terms of viewership, on US TV. It seems to have been a smart decision for them to build Paramount+ around the Yellowstone franchise and Taylor Sheridan’s other shows.

Succession could be an all time great show if they stick the landing this season, so not really an apt comparison tbh

It’s only been two episodes, and I believe there’s potential there.
Bojack Horseman is one of my favourite shows of all time and I can imagine what people were saying after two episodes.

Funny you say that because I saw the trailer and for a moment I thought the lead actor was Richard Madden for a second. Honestly, nothing about the premise makes it seem worth watching. It feels like it should be a mid-90's action film starring Charlie Sheen.

I prefer "The Good Place" and "Ted Lasso" over any sitcom from a decade ago.

Watched the first two episodes. It is 24 level, not season 5 but still very entertaining. Like a Bourne identity meets Jack Bauer meets Hackers

That's pretty much its tone. If anything it gets slower in the second season. It's not an action show. If you were looking for the next Hannibal or such, this is substantially different.
