Among all guest-stars who played the potential mother, I only found Ashley Williams , the actress who played Victoria, to be the one matching the energy of Ted, Barney and the others.

Miloti came to late, was too tame and didn't stay long enough to be interesting, outside of being "the mother".

Yeah, I was listening to a recent interview with the showrunners and they acknowledged there's no way they could have introduced the core group the way they did while still giving time to the background survivors. With some of the season one stars frozen or exploded, they have more space for others.

To be honest, I did watch it with the intention of it being similar to Hannibal (as that’s what many people compared it to) but if it’s not similar then it probably won’t be my thing.

I watched the pilot and I enjoyed it but I felt like it won’t be capable of remaining interesting. The second episode seems to confirm my theory, but of course it’s just my opinion. I love Bob Odenkirk and Mireille Enos but maybe it won’t be enough for me to keep watching.

Season 1 was shot during the height of Covid restrictions. That, plus budgetary issues, I think led them to doing a LOST trick where they just focused on the principal cast, and occasionally had background extras moping around.

I remember there were scenes where it was supposed to be the entire group, and you only saw principals with no background actors at all. That was definitely a Covid thing.

a much simpler argument can be mad, for instance why should the US Government be getting a piece of a transaction that was sourced, manufactured, and sold outside it's borders in the first place?

point is, none of that matters for what i was saying - which was simply highlighting the Hollywood hypocrisy, regardless of how right or wrong they my be on the underlying topic.

The short answer is that Breaking Bad and The Sopranos are better shows.

The long answer is... many reasons. For example:

  • Tony Soprano and Walter White are iconic characters, two of the best performances ever, and their trials and tribulations are about things that normal people can relate to. That makes them timeless and appealing. Dexter is somewhat iconic too but its a much more shallow character, because he is not normal in any way, he is a serial killer. Lost was an ensemble show and most of the characters are not really iconic.
  • Lost is quite long at 121 episodes, and is a very 'Easter Egg' show which isn't for everyone. I think people are aware that it's a big time commitment.
  • Dexter is honestly just not very good. S1 and S4 were highly rated, the rest of the show ranges from passable to bad. It is a show from a different era where simply having 'adult content' was a big deal.
  • Dexter is still pretty popular anyway, the 'new' season had high ratings. Lost gets brought up here a lot and I think most people have fond memories of it.
  • Nobody actually watched Breaking Bad while it aired, except the last season. It 'remains' relevant because people have discovered it long after it aired.

>"The original plan was about five seasons, and we feel like we're still on track for that," co-creator Ashley Lyle tells EW in our latest cover story. Although Lyle says "there's always room for things," she clarifies that "we don't really see this as being more than a five-season show. I think that there are shows that can go forever, but I think that when you're telling such a deeply serialized story and it's about these characters' lives, you want to reach a satisfying conclusion and not just drag things out forever. This isn't really one of those setup shows where it can go anywhere. So far, we've been really on track. Season 2 is largely what we always planned, but you do make a lot of discoveries along the way and so it's always a little bit surprising."
