The problem with shadow and bone is not that it's a slow burn but more that it burns through plot incredibly quickly. It's a pretty stereotypical YA fantasy story if you're into that.

Maybe. Need to see if they stick the landing.

Bodyguard was great! I was wondering if we’d ever get a second season. The last I heard was late 2022, they confirmed we’d get a season 2, but there have been no dates or other details. But that reminds me I wanted to check out the show Richard Madden is in on Amazon called Citadel.

All the reboots are great though. Not really their fault no one watches.

Urkel wasn't in the first 3 episodes of Family Matters and missed 3 of the next 6.
Topanga missed the first 3 episodes of Boy Meets World and 6 of the first 7. She wasn't supposed to be a regular and the actress who was originally cast was replaced shortly before it was shot.
The Janitor from Scrubs, Castiel in Supernatural, Gunther from Friends, Andy from The Office, and Andy from Parks & Rec are other examples. Maybe they won't be back immediately but there are lots of examples of guest cast becoming supporting or regular cast.

I mean, we will see how the season pans out, but I wouldn’t necessarily even put succession in a Mount Rushmore of shows that have been aired this year
I still consider it must see tv, but it’s pretty much on par with something like white lotus or severance in my mind

I’m really sorry to hear about your dad. I hope watching the show makes you feel his presence even though he’s gone. Virtual hugs from an Internet stranger.

The decent thing for show runners to do is not make a cliffhanger if their show is on the cancellation bubble. (I think the only show I’ve watched that actually did this was the first run of Leverage.)
And if a show has enough of a following to get two full seasons or more, studios should have the decency to give them one double length episode to wrap up the loose ends. (So an hour episode for a sitcom, two hour episode for a drama.) But this will never happen.

What shows do you overwhelmingly put over it for comparison?

No
I really like the show, it has some all time great episodes. But I honestly have no idea where the mythical level of hype has come from.

Jesus I know it's stupid to say, but that's very unexpected. An astonishing man and a fantastic advocate. A life well lived.

Saw the first episode, wasn't impressed by the writing. Rabbit Hole seems sharper by a half but the action was better.

Madd's Hannibal, for both questions
He's masterfully deceptive, often implying a lie by telling a certain truth
But also, he's so.damn.obvious
The man can't help himself, one of my favorite part of rewatches, one you get past the intrigue, bloodshed, the passion & obsession
You realize he's just trolling people, the whole goddamn time

If I could take my viewership of the Night Agent back, I would. Hands down the stiffest acting I can recall in any series with unreasonably sophomoric dialogue.

Nothing personally. He just happened to be the lead of some shows that unfortunately ended with terrible finales. (If they were even given a finale, that is).
