It’s hilarious that his previous salary makes his current $39 M salary look like he is giving a deal. Maybe paying your executives such high salaries while claiming that you are tightening your belt is a problem.

I'm glad I'm not the only one who caught that and rolled my eyes, this feels like a paid puff piece by someone who is trying to save their job.

Im honestly so sick of tv shows shoehorning in a romance.
Just let platonic close friendships exist between genders without sex for fuck sake.

"Under Alex Kurtzman’s watchful eye, the Star Trek franchise has balanced this incredibly well so far."
No....No it has not.
[Edit: Looked at the author's history and low and behold she wrote a puff piece about TLJ, Rian Johnson, and how great it was for the franchise]
Discovery has it's fans but only caused canon problems and is Star Trek at it's absolute worst so much so they had to force so far into the future it couldn't damage anything.
(I would argue Discovery would have never survived if it's first 2 seasons weren't paid for by Netflix overpaying for international distrubution rights)
Lower Decks while has it's moments is just "remember this?"
Picard Season 1 and 2 were absolute garbage, 2 is an affront to your intelligence.
SNW was finally good but the only Star Trek show that actually tried to be Star Trek.
Picard Season 3 has been good, but is held back by the baggage Kurtzman has caused.
you have two good seasons of Star Trek agains 6 bad ones and animated series that is meant to be a joke.

I'm confused where they got the nerve to reduce TV legend Tim Meadows to just "Special 'SNL' Guest Star."
Hell, I'll say it, I object to every part of this headline!

I don’t disagree with a lot of what you said, except Aquaman 2. That movie is not going to make anything near what the first made. It’ll be a bigger drop off than Shazam 1-2.

This show is all about the characters and their chemistry—IMO.
You could know every detail about the plot but miss out on the interactions—which is the real gem.

The parent television council was huge in the 90s and early 2000s, and friends was among one of its favorites to hate

Honestly I think the vast majority of those who dont like it just finds it boring. I won't say nobody finds it offensive or that there isn't stuff that is offensive about it, but I think the vast majority doesn't just doesn't like it.
I think what the issue is that on social media everyone's comments can be elevated. 1 person is offended and there's 10,000 telling them how dumb they are. Then 50 articles are written about how it's a controversy and cancel culture and bullshit, and that spawns more debate and people calling it stupid. If that happened in the 90s, you just ignored the guy ranting and that was the end. If a big enough group came together like the parent television council, it would gain some media attention, but not even close to what we get now when 1 person complains online
Plus I'll add that it's so easy to blow it out of proportion too. Criticizing the show with a modern lens can be useful to identify what things have changed and maybe what things will change for the future. Saying the trans jokes for example are bad doesn't mean the show is being "cancelled" it just means it isn't a thing that should continue. But you take someone who doesn't understand that nuance or doesn't want to, and they can strip it away and argue against it like people are protesting outside the WBD headquarters demanding for it to be removed and the masters deleted

Between the legacy characters and the children introduced this season, there are the components for a new series. At least for me, S3 is the closest to what I was hoping for in the Picard series. If they can pull that into a new series, then they could have something solid.

I just watched the second episode, the end is insane although I almost say aloud that >!'dad' !<at the end
I found it Hailey ridiculously funny paired with Kiefer. I felt heavy Burn After Reading vibes here.

For a typical cop drama the first two seasons were at least watchable because they had underlying plots in the background. After that it got really really really bad and very clearly just caters to the old white people who are anti tech/social rights/whatever.

When did AS move to 8?
I remember it not starting until 11! But I also haven’t watched CN since the third season of total drama
