Well you're either deleting his number, blocking him, and never seeing him again - or you're not. There's no other way to "ghost".
If you're not comfortable with that, tell him you've appreciated his friendship but aren't interested in a romantic relationship - so if he's cool with that you'd like to hang out as friends, but if he's not cool with that it's ok and you can both move on?

Ghosting people isn't the way to go. Be direct and clear and you'll get the results you want without dragging people along or confusing them.

I’ll chime in with my two sense. I’m not going to lecture you. No one is perfect but violence is never the answer unless your protecting yourself or a love one from serious harm.
I believe a lot depends on how injured the other person is. Did you break his nose? His jaw? Hopefully all you did is hurt his ego.
If the police come knocking on your door. Just respectfully tell them that you do not know the law and need to speak to your attorney.
If this happens, obviously get an attorney and let them handle the issue.
I can see this going in many different directions but most likely nothing will happen to you, but I can also surmise that you might have to pay for some damages to that car the ‘victim’ hit.
Saying all this the ‘victim’ was a douche.

Here what I think is going to happen because my wife just went through a similar incident. The day my wife punch a neighbor hood butch in the face the cops came to the house. She wasn't home because of a doctor's appointment she was at. It wasn't tell three weeks later the caps come back to arrest her. We ended up hiring a lawyer and gonna play the system like everyone else does. Ask for a jury trial and gonna drag it out. I recommend you do the same. If he presses charges witch I assume he will and hold you responsible for the damage to his car and the other guys he hit or the insurance company is going to come after you. A decent lawyer for this situation is going to cost you atleast 5k+. Depending on your job it might be beneficial to get a good lawyer to get charges dropped or reduced.
Edit: just want to add the season my wife punched the girl in the face is because two days prior to that she didn't like how slow I was going with boat in tow over the speed bumps in our neighborhood. Once we got on the main road she tried to swerve and hit us then proceeded to break check us. Then the day of the incident my wife went to confronte her about her driving in the neighborhood. My wife explained to her about the kids in the neighborhood and ours in the car and she said she didn't give a shit about the kids. At thet time she started to stick her phone in my wife's face. My wife smacked her phone out of her hand and then she put her hands around my wife throat. Thats when my wife double tapped for to get her to let go. Mom bear came out.

You both were struggling at the same time, and while she always took the initiative to reach out to you first and see how you were doing all while carrying the pain of losing her child - you couldn’t do the same once in a while? Sent her a quick text, or a quick phone call to make sure she knew you were there for her?
At the same time, I understand that you had your own demons to deal with. I do believe you could have communicated with her at some point and let her know you needed time though. At this point, communication is key (always will be in any situation). Sit her down and talk to her.
Overall, shit happens.

No worries, it happens. I've been in a lot of different industries and seen everything. And even after seeing all of that, I find myself doing it too. I bet you won't forget next time though!

I’m sorry that you’ve had such a difficult experience. And Reddit can be a cruddy place with knee-jerk reactions and lack of context. So, let me come at it from a different angle- I get you’re hurting and looking for outlets to escape or cope or deal. It’s really hard. There’s no words or magic that makes it easier. But I wanna encourage you (if you’re not already) to seek treatment. Trauma is an ugly monster that can be a challenge to cope with and there’s a ton of people who have walked that road. Stay safe and be well.

We had a contractor tell us over the phone to check the switch (in this case the burner safety switch by the cellar door), or he could come over to check it, for the minimum charge.
Contractors just know. It’s been Christmas, mothers-in-law have visited, and they tend to mess with everything. It turned out one of them was looking for the kitchen lights.
They also fucked up the fridge temp as usual (trying to get ice) and the universal remote. It took too long to program and I’m not going through that again.

My thoughts:
TIFU at best can be a sounding board to avoid future mistakes. In this case results were not great but no mistakes were made. Good to see that you got it off your chest wth confession and hoping to learn, but I don't see much here.

I’m an electrician,
We were working with a kitchen and bath company.
This couple had been living in their house for 10 years. They finally wanted to redo the kitchen because half of the outlets never worked and they have had to run extension cords for all of their appliances.
Turns out the GFCI kitchen countertop outlet was tripped and just needed to be reset.
One click, would have saved them from 10 years of running extension cords for appliances

Well the reason I ask is I also hang drywall and I would not hit someone unless seriously provoked cause I'm afraid I might hit someone too hard it only takes one hit they go down wrong and that's it for both u might wanna think about that before fighting over something so small.

"Face the music" could mean going to therapy and/or big emotional potentially embarrassing conversations. I know I used to do everything to avoid taking about my feelings as a teenager. It doesn't necessarily mean abuse. At least I would hope so.

Right? You shouldn’t punch people in the face, but on the other hand… some people need to get punched in the face
