He should pray to all kind of god and devil out there that the guy would agree to a settlement and drop the charge. Outside that, yeah pretty much plead guilty and ask for leniency. If what OP said about this being the first ever offense he got, leading guilty might help him get probation+ fine instead of jail time. Would still cost OP $3k-5k and medical cost for the guy + car damage though. But that's the best scenerio here.

So unless had his gun holstered and able to pull it while getting punched in the face, theres no legal right to shoot since the OP would be walking away and would thereby no longer constitute a threat.

The funny thing about psychosis is you never remember what your hallucinations are, I have had treatment resistant schizophrenia for 15 years and in the past I have been in and out of hospitals and not one person has remembered there hallucinations when in a state of psychosis. Stop lying.

I.e. they don't teach kids about puberty, sex, menstruation etc because then they'll end up having sex outside of marriage and getting pregnant (which is actually the opposite but you can't convert these people to modern beliefs).

Follow the guys saying get a good lawyer, and do what they say. Likely with a good lawyer you have a good chance unless theres any video evidence or cameras at the park that caught the incident.
