I think most of us have regrets and whatnot from our childhood that we'd rather not remember. Definitely best not to think about them that often, and ideally, learn from them.

Unfortunately, I seem to have the ability to remember a lot of really small and VERY insignificant moments where something awkward happened and I am cursed to cringe at myself or others whenever I think about them.

It's anxiety inducing, it's that bad... Why am I like that?

Anyways, the advice stands, and I really need to take my own advice, haha.

I get overwhelmingly embarrassed when I have a cute nurse or doctor. Even if they are just there to ask questions.

"Do you have gas or constipation?" Uhhhhhh idk...

"Remove your shirt" Wtf I'm hairy asf and I haven't been working out on my abs or chest

"Remove your hat" I'm bald nooooo!

"Roll up your sleeve" I have dry skin!

I was leaving a practice after a misdiagnosis, so not in great terms. They immediately informed me my records would cost $5 per page, and I had 65 pages. How do you want to pay?

My next doctor just got the records for free anyway, but I found it frightening and disgusting that my own health records could be hijacked like that. Made me hate that practice even more.

Because it's possibly a better idea to ease children into the reality of the world, than to shove it down their throats in sudden doses? Not saying to wrap them in cotton wool, but giving context and background before showing them harsh reality may give them some kind of foundation to work with whilst they process.

Bad analogy (to physical health. )

I wouldn’t want to take advice from someone who can’t implement their own ideas.

Id rather take advice from someone who can empirically test their own recommended practices.

Better analogies:

Would anyone hire a personal trainer who doesn’t ever work out?

Or hire a vocal coach who doesn’t sing?

Or a Spanish teacher who doesn’t speak Spanish?

They’re supposed to be a bit better than most of us. Otherwise id just talk to a friend and for free. They’re in a position of authority.

Many regulatory colleges have a mandatory requirement that each practitioner do a minimum number of hours for their own treatment per year.
