I had to go to the ER for rectal bleeding a few years back. Well, the nurse explained that the doctor had to do a rectal exam. I'm a mid-20s woman and I couldn't decide the least embarrassing doctor to walk in and strap on a glove would be.

Hottest woman I've ever seen in my life and she was only there to put her fingers up my bleeding butthole.

So I feel you.

lol so yeahhhhh and I am with you sentiment-wise but to OP I would suggest taking a non-confrontational tone (while also not caving to demands for more than a nominal charge for records). HIPAA is a facepalm kind of sorcery/science issue where healthcare people and legally literate people treat one another like witches. I have literally mailed medical offices highlighted copies of the HIPAA provisions showing that what they were demanding was illegal, and then received stubbornly ignorant (and flat wrong) ‘nuh-uh’ responses from lawyers hired by said medical offices. tl;dr You’ve got right (and the law) on your side (this is not legal advice) but if you talk too much about law you may bait them into flexing their legal ignorance in combination with their financial flexibility which is a mistake even lawyers sometimes make and regret.

I've fractured bones in both ankles multiple times, I know your pain.

My worst break was when I broke a bone along the top of my foot, the bone was almost poking through the skin, and yet when they did the x-rays, no break showed up. Despite clearly seeing that, yes, a bone is broken and not in the place it should be, they wouldn't do anything besides wrap it in an ace bandage and give me crutches. Two days later, after my pain pills kicked in, I pushed the bone back in place myself, and, ~SHOCKINGLY~ the bruising (which had been almost solid black up until then) almost instantly faded to barely visible. 🙄

Holy shit. People still believe in age striction stuff? I thought we grew out of it in the mid 90s.

Like yeah, they shouldn't be listening to the gamer word until they're at least 12. Fine. But murders and such are fine when they're around 10. Killing is edgy and funny around then (as an entertainment thing).
