Get a flat pan and cook them on your stovetop, not the oven. Put the burner on medium to medium/low. Butter the bread and cook the sandwiches until the bread toasts. By that point the cheese should be melted. If it toasts too fast you can easily control the heat.

Here’s a link to some grilled cheese and tomato basil soup that I make for the wife and kids. The bread is sourdough and I used cheddar and Monterey Jack cheese.

While in college (in the ‘80s), my mom had a Honda Civic. Whenever the car acted up, my granddad always advised her to first check under the hood. Mom would roll her eyes – “How could I tell what's the problem? I don't know anything about cars."

One day, her car wouldn’t start. She was about to call the tow truck, but she could hear her father’s voice in her head (“Did you look under the hood…”) Mom thought fine, I’ll take a quick look. She opened the hood and saw frayed wires sticking up every which way. Her first thought was that someone had intentionally sabotaged her car… but then she noticed a single walnut, carefully nestled amidst the mess of wires.

So yeah, don’t underestimate what squirrels can do to cars. Lol.

Hi, friend! I'm hoping I can make you feel a little better, so I did a little research! The green in potatoes is chlorophyll (which is why it's important to store your taters somewhere cool and dark) and chlorophyll can mean that there's a compound called solanine. But fear not! You'd have to ingest A LOT of spuds for any kind of solanine toxicity to really harm you. A good idea would be to cut the green parts of the potato off and, most importantly: if it's bitter, don't eat it!

You're gonna be just fine, palski! I know how awful anxiety can be, so I hope this helps just a little!

Here's an article I found: https://www.tasteofhome.com/article/can-you-eat-green-potatoes/

You should be okay. You had just one potato of 8oz, not all of which was green. You’d have to eat a fully-green 1 lb potato (equivalent to a large baked potato), to get sick. This sounds more like trace amounts - which may cause some uneasiness (at worst a headache and some mild stomach/gut pain) but not make you go to the ER. Your body will flush it out naturally in the coming days.

Don’t eat any more potatoes that look even remotely green, from now on.

And if it was pre-wrapped, contact the company that packed them and give them an earful.

Hey man!

I took your advice and went back in and talked to the new cashier. Apparently, she either moved onto a new better gig (which she had mentioned she had lined up), or got fired for drinking on the job (maybe, but unlikely).

Still kind of sad we're unlikely to see each other again. But also glad it doesn't seem like I was the reason she left/got fired. It seems you were right about me jumping to conclusions. I think you're pretty spot on about her not being into me (or at least, as into me) as I was her.

Thought you deserved to know since you're the only one I got advice from haha.
