Relationships with friends and lovers tend to ebb and flow, but when they are truely valued members of your circle, you always go back to them, and they to you. Others whom you may be friendly with, become close friends while there's commonality in your lives, schedules, or situations, then after a time you drift out of each other's lives. Sometimes friendships seem to end, over disagreements, separations, or whatever, and after some separation and quiet, things are reevaluated and people come back together - sometimes it's just over. Be a good person, live as gracefully as possible, and the great friends will always be there, in whatever variations nature works out.

Yeah happened to me a few months back, same symptoms and everything. It persisted for a while so I had a doctor check it out. It was gastritis. I’ve never felt pain like it. I know how you feel man.

I had to go to the ER in N.O. for severe vomiting. I had oysters for dinner. The ER doc told me that Katrina killed off a lot of the oyster beds. As a result the oysters are shipped in from all over and aren’t fresh. He said they had a huge uptick in people sick from the sea food.

No biggie, is a totally understandable mistake.

The other way around happened to my wife. We were in a family lunch with my grandma and she said In Spanish “quiero comer polla!” (I want to eat dick) instead of “quiero comer pollo” (I want to eat chicken). Everyone laugh, she blushed and then I made fun of her for a bit. And now we just laugh about that every now and then.

Certainly a TIFU, but that sounds to me like a good amount of food poisoning from questionable food in New Orleans and not necessarily alcohol. And let me tell you, there's a LOT of questionable places to eat there.

That's somewhat like my own life, TBH. My family members have all passed away.

Friends come and go like the tide. I frequently overhear them talking about the most recent big party they attended.

Whenever I mention or ask why I wasn't invited, they play dumb, "Oh we didn't mean to do that. I may have believed it in the beginning, but not anymore.

One may expect that kind of behavior from kids, but not from SENIOR CITEZENS IN ASSITSED LIVING??!!?? I guess some people just never grow up.

I’ll add it! I read the 25th of every month is regarded as Anzac Day, to remember the New Zealand + Australian soldiers who fought in WWI.

Even then, this description a huge understatement. The reality of WWI still scares me a bit. The soldiers sacrificed everything and set a heroic tone for National strength, identity, and pride. Considering the population sizes, it’s a lot of people who traveled maybe the first + last time across the world to fight for their country in WWI. In a way, the soldiers proved their nations are capable to be its own independent country.. was right! and that is super cool.

That’s very kind of you!! Celebrate w your loved ones. That itself makes me happy. I’m glad that kind of happiness exists.

I think it may be fun. Sometimes celebrating is just a cup of coffee* and reading about the holiday (mostly history).

*Coffee means instant coffee 😂🥹
