TIL that in 1983, Purina's Chuck Wagon dog food was given a promotional video game for the Atari 2600 called "Chase the Chuck Wagon". It could only be received by proof of purchase labels and is considered the "Holy Grail" of Atari 2600 video game collecting.

TIL That in 1774 James Cook charted Sandy Island off the coast of New Caledonia. Despite its' inclusion in official maps and charts for over two centuries in 2012 an Australian survey vessel proved the island had never actually existed and may have been a 'pumice raft' floating in the area.
