GG absolutely was an icon in punk. Hence, here we are arguing about it on Reddit decades after he died.

Whether or not you agree with what he’s done (I’m not a fan) it doesn’t take away from his prominence or influence on the culture.

The punk scene by its very nature attracts fuck ups. Most of its legends were heavily involved in drugs, violence, criminality, etc. Utilising shock in performance has always been a key component.

You sound like a straight up square that wants to sugar coat the history and make it seem like everyone has good intentions and was politically moral

Pre-N64, really. I know this is a bit of a hot take, but the N64 started their downfall. Bizarre, nonsensical button layouts, an obsession with cartridges (which they tried to remedy with a failed disk peripheral) and other nonstandard game media formats, and just an overall obsession with using older tech than their competitors across multiple generations, that even still has persisted today in the Switch (though only in horsepower, really).

Their insistence on supporting primarily first party titles, with everything else taking a distant backseat, is mind boggling to me as well. And frankly, that's largely why their hardware has lagged. First party wise, Zelda and modern 3D Metroid are the only things to really challenge the hardware constraints, and it's easy enough to tell those teams to just deal with it. Everyone third party just has to down-port and crapify the graphical fidelity. There's a reason the eShop depends on 5 year+ old indie titles to still anything third party. If I didn't own those games on 2-3 other platforms already, I might be tempted.

Don't get me wrong, I know they're still successful. But I don't think they're good the way they were in the past. SNES and GBA were, IMO, the last truly great home and portable systems they made. Everything beyond that was contingent on gimmicks. I'm sure that's partly my nostalgia talking, but I do think it's telling that they're so dependent on remakes/ports/emulation of those eras and earlier.

So this was some of these people's 3rd name change? What other food promotion name changes were they involved in? I'm guessing bubble tea but hoping someone could squeeze intestine and oyster vermicelli in there somewhere

Running properly maintained equipment is one aspect of safety and new equipment hasn't had time or use to degrade and is therefore mechanically sound and therefore safe.

One of the other aspects of safety, perhaps the most important, is competent pilots, engineers, and air traffic controllers. I'd venture that Lion Air has less experienced pilots and lower requirements to get hired. An inexperienced pilot can crash a new plane.

When I was living in Japan I would always get the salmon with mayonnaise and onion slices. It’s such a flavor bomb, I don’t know why we don’t have them in the States. It seems like the most American thing you can think of, yet startlingly they’re nowhere to be found. Anyways this is my way of saying that I would name myself Salmon Mayonnaise if I were to participate in the salmon chaos
