Good concise explanation. In grad school in the ‘70’s (speech pathology) the combined language learning centers were termed the LAD or language acquisition device. Some combination of neural systems that acquired language with minimal exposure. I always thought it was a bit of a cop out, the ability was well known, but the exact structures involved were not, hence kind of a black box explanation.

Well, at least Verona can milk it. I've been there, and there's a ton of people visiting the balcony were it all "supposedly happened" every day.

I don't understand. Why are people writing letters to a fictional character?

I used to think there was some merit to tabula rasa theory.
But then I had kids.
They had clearly defined personalities and tendencies from day one.
Not saying I know why. Is it chemical? Genetic? Spiritual? Who knows.
But anyone who has spent any time with newborns can probably confirm that they are not born with blank slates.

Very fascinating read indeed. I’ve always wanted to ask a newborn, “what were you thinking about 6 months ago?”

Also many of the curries they eat were indeed invented in Britain (by Indian migrants). Butter chicken is British in the same way orange chicken is form California not China

1/4 cup of kernels. Brown paper lunch bag folded well on top. Set microwave for three minutes. When pops are less than every two seconds, remove, add butter, salt and serve. You're welcome.

Closer to 400 actually. Romeo and Juliet was set in the 15th century.

The ironic thing here is that there's nothing Italian at all about Romeo and Juliet, or any other 'set in other European cities' characters under Shakespeare. Verona might as well be Newcastle.
It's like how Midsummer Night's Dream had shite all to do with Greece.

This is natural selection rather than evolution, although it certainly does play a part in evolution. It might be a fine point, but it's an important one.

I don't know why businesses do stupid promos like this, if I saw someone with a tattoo of a restaurant, I'd think the place was a trashy spot for crackheads.

I’d also need sushi grade salmon and knowledge of how to best prepare it.
