It's actually mostly about cold war politics, spycraft, and international grandstanding (which was all a major factor in the sport of chess at the time).

There are almost as many versions of the book (a musical's "script") as there are professional productions of Chess. Every time it's mounted the thing goes in a blender with a couple of new plot lines, cut or expanded characters, songs being reassigned etc etc.

Webber wrote arrangements. This was written by the same lyricist who Webber typically collaborated with.

A collaboration of the 2 guys from Abba and the lyricist who had spent about a decade collaborating with Andrew Lloyd Webber on his biggest hits. The concept album cast some of the biggest names in musical theatre.

In the book version of The Natural, he strikes out in the end.

The quartet is so difficult to do, but so awesome when everyone has their timing down. I know him so well, you and I, anthem, pitty the child; that show is crammed with amazing music, but Bangkok is the only one anyone ever remembers.

Is this where the Welsh legends of "the drowned land" derive?
I remember this being a big thing in Susan Cooper's "The Dark Is Rising" series.

I prefer the work-in-progress version, but I got to see the West End version twice in 1986.

Probably. Was hoping that the "serious question" part would make people understand that I was genuinely asking haha.
Not a big deal though, in the end I got a good answer and that's all that matters. No offense was intended, the person I responded to never let me know they found my comment rude or aggressive and I got a real answer. That's about as good as it gets sometimes.
I can come off as rough, but I'm always genuine and take feedback when the person I respond to has a problem. I can't let random people with no stake in the Convo get me down. If they want to downvote to teach me a lesson, so be it lol. Only way to change is to discuss in a respectful way, if they can't do that I won't be bothered and I'll just laugh it off.

My attempt at summarizing:
There's a relatively shallow part of the North Sea between Great Britain and continental Europe. Some of this area was above sea level during ice ages, and that area is called Doggerland. It's believed to have been a full land bridge at one point, but it became islands as the sea level changed. Its largest island, referred to as Mesolithic Doggerland (MD), might have been inhabited until about 8000 years ago. Land slides in Norway probably caused tsunamis, including a major one called the Storegga tsunami. The tsunamis could have wiped out the inhabitants there or at least led to their decline.
The Doggerland entry on Wikipedia suggests that it isn't fully known how quickly the sea level changed at times.

Downvotes are probably because of how aggressive your comment sounds

It is compared to a good pizza joint. Most of those are over $20 for a large. Pizza Hut usually has promos where you can get two pizzas and some other crap for the price of one pie at other spots.
So relatively speaking, it is absolutely cheap.
