I listen to the concert every so often. I love it and it has some of my favorite performers ever. I just can't listen to Pity The Child #2 without crying. And I'm not always feeling that.

We are. Imagine what happens to urban animals if humans go extinct.

And then we have idiots in Michigan who decide to use explosives, and guns to set off said explosives, to destroy beaver dams.
This is why we can’t have nice things.

The restoration of riparian ecosystems are one of the best ways to remedy desertification and water table subsidation. Beavers work for free everyday/night doing just that.

Not as successful in that way as rats and pigeons, but certainly more complex and photogenic. Peregrine falcons are doing increasingly well among our skyscraper cliffs preying on pigeons too. Humans are a force of nature.

I guess that’s why the area is referred to as Dogger.

In Southern Chile, they were artificially introduced and now pose a big threat to the local biodiversity.

And then pitch black, from pitch/tar, which can also come from coal.

As an American, our movies seem to require the happy ending a la Disney.
Except the movie The American, which is set in Italy

That was an incredible read. Wow.
Edit: There were two weird feelings reading this. First, wondering, "why don't they keep production teams together? Surely that matters?" Does anyone know? Second, what if they let those two guys become 'Miyazakis' - turn the Florida Studio into something totally other that can do those things. Let them go and see what happens?

Mass extinctions open up niches for other animals to fill and adapt.

I can never decide if Nobody's Side or Pity The Child is the bigger emotional motivator. I love them both. And then Anthem. Linda Eder's cover of Anthem gives me chills every single time.
