During the red scare they even banned the naacp on the pretext of anti communism
You’re 100% correct
Edit: also in regards to the indigenous movement, after ww2 (which had changed the economic and political reality for indigenous peoples in America) and at the start of the Cold war and red scare, America would propagandize the idea that indigenous movements were communist, and highlighted their shared policies between indigenous activists and communist ones.

i knew about Clinton and Trump before, but I didn't know that Bush was born the same year until after I looked it up yesterday after hearing the news. Also interestingly enough, the order they were born in is the reverse order of their presidential terms, and this is the second time that four presidents were born in the same decade!

by 4 years, but definitely the timing of their terms gives a different perspective for sure. I agree, it seems way more drastic bc they were all at completely different stages during their respective terms.

When people say "that's just how it was back then" it's kinda bullshit. It was, then, like it is now: fascists forced racist iconography and ideology onto our culture in order to secure their social standing. People thought it was bullshit to put up a lot of statues. But, it takes ten times the effort to get something taken down as it does to put it up.

The entire north of Ohio is Lake Erie, so it's not a landlock state. And there is a salt mine under Cleveland.

Isn’t the median age of senators 65? That’s considerably higher than 59.

Taking a ship around was always the way to go if you could afford it.
You could also take a ship to Panama, cross there, and then take a ship to California if you wanted to save a few months onboard ship.

The USGS defined a mountain as any landform that rises 1000ft or more above the surrounding area. Ohio's most prominent (and highest) point is 1549ft above sea level (43rd highest overall) but is only 639ft above the surrounding area. It is also 1094ft above the lowest point (the Ohio River at the tri-boundary of Indiana and Kentucky).

Ohio isn't landlocked and was at one point a major ocean access point for the interior, so much so that there was a war fought over it that directly caused the American Revolution.

So, is Illinois not landlocked because it's on Lake Michigan? Is Iowa not landlocked because the entire eastern border is on the Mississippi? Where does it end?
