And you can get a flag that was flown on the Peace Tower. I signed up years ago to get one and I think the wait time was 75+ years? I should have it if I live to 90 something.
Looks like I got in before the rush... wait time now is more than 100 years

I’m currently in the process of getting Canadian citizenship. I’m going to look into this once I get it.

The English monarchy can knight anyone they choose, it’s an old and often ignored Canadian law that Canadians cannot accept knighthood because it defies democracy.
This article has a handful of Canadians who were knighted and some that were “prevented” for political reasons:

I thought children learn this around the same time they learn why the sky is blue

What??? Do you think the sky is green in the middle of the Mongolian steps, or yellow in the Sahara?
Sky is blue because our atmosphere scatters the light from the sun, and the colour depends on the angle, hence why on sun rise and sun set is yellow/orange ish

I was sure you were full of it but supposedly I do have one. Can't tell if I'm actually related to that branch or if it's just the crest of the city with the same name though.

Reply to comment by GonWithTheNen in TIL that in 2020, to educate the public about misinformation, researchers used AI to have Richard Nixon deliver the never-used "In Event of Moon Disaster" Apollo 11 speech. by [deleted]
Right now people are using Elevenlabs to emulate the voice of Dagoth Ur, a character in the Elder Scrolls IV Morrowind with only a handful of voice lines, to make funny meme videos.
The capability of the AI tool is quite impressive even with small samples, though the small number of available samples does mean people are also depending on that small sample to get an impression of what the character sounds like.
I imagine it would be different for a character with a large number of samples (which viewers are familiar with) that you only fed a handful of to the AI.
