It's not a constant snow storm here if that's what you're worried about but yes, there will be snow and it will be cold. There are lots of outdoor activities, you will need the proper clothes for them. Otherwise, there's shopping, breweries, dining, etc.

If you're into skiing, snowboarding, snowshoeing, sledding, or winter hiking, then January is a great time to visit! But if you're not into outdoor activities, then be prepared for lots of cold and not a lot in the way of festivals or other events.

Too many people write off social housing. It doesn't even need to be a drain on public coffers, either. Just build something decent that appeals to a mix of income levels and charge enough to cover maintenance/upkeep and you get yourself a long way just by cutting out the profit share. Obviously that wouldn't cover the very bottom of the income spectrum, but it could be a pretty cheap way of making housing a lot more affordable for the the middle class and working poor — with huge knock-on effects for the broader economy.

If you want to make visiting Vermont worthwhile at all, you will need your own transportation. Public transportation outside of Burlington is inconvenient or nonexistent. There is no Uber or Lyft. To make your visit at all worth your time or money, you need your own wheels.

That said, visiting in Vermont in the winter is incredibly popular and well worth it. It’s best to hit up several touristy towns, spending 1-2 days in each. All the better if you ski, but if not there’s still a lot to do.

Yeah public transportation borderline doesn’t exist in VT. To live here you MUST own a reliable car.

As for what to do, it depends on what you are into. There is plenty to do in the winter, if you are into winter things. Also this storm we just got wasn’t shit. We got like 4-6”. Barely enough to cover the dirt.

If you are into skiing/snowshoeing, better to come in February when we have some real snow. If you just want to be outdoorsy and sightsee and explore towns, summer and fall is better. If you want peak foliage, first week of October is generally the best time to come for that.

That's interesting because at my workplace, employees over 40ish tend to use their work issued cell phone as their only phone. including all their personal contacts, email, photos, social media, etc.

And almost all employees under 40 have 2 separate devices, one personal and one work.

I don't work for the state though.

This is incorrect. Instagram stories and reels (the only Instagram features that actually reach anyone now with their current algorithm) cannot be created and posted from desktop.

Also, when you know 99% or your end users will be on mobile, you should always check what your work looks like on mobile, even when you can post from desktop.
