Idaho man. When me and my wife decided to move back home (we’d been out of state for 6 years) we were also contemplating Idaho. Spent a couple weeks in Fairfield with a friend who lives out there and it was like VT was 20 years ago. Although I guess they have their fair share of assholes moving in from California since Covid.

Anyways, we decided to move back home and it’s not the same place we left.

Vermont is beautiful and all, but please, the south is not a monolith. It’s full a great cities, nature, and culture, not to mention diversity that Vermont definitely does not have. Please understand that these places and experiences you’re referring sound crappy, and I’m sorry for you, but they do not represent the entire southeast.

Obvious things that stand out:

  • Antiseptic wipes should be universal.
  • Lack of hand/feet warmers in cold climates.

What I would recommend is looking at climate and ecosystem zones individually to design first aid and survival kits. E.g. poison parsnip grows in Vermont, let's have something in our kit for exposure to that. Ticks are pretty common east of the Mississippi--gotta have something for that. Hire me to do your market segmentation if need be.
