I know this post is a few days old, but I just want to say that I feel you. It's a tough time of year when everyone is celebrating their privileges out loud and you want to be happy for them, but it kinda hurts to hear, too. I hope next year, you have some people to spend it with. If you don't, post here again, maybe a week beforehand, and I'm sure someone here would be happy to help.

Nah, you can attempt to backtrack, but you used a word, asked for evidence it was racist, then said it wasn't when given a source and wanted another source.

Given an additional source and still nada.

Guess you're that special type of self-righteous that loves attempting to correct other people, but when corrected, can't handle it.

A good attempt to try and come off as some sort of intellectual, why? Idk, but yeah, not buying that lazy attempt.

Amateur tip: Shop elsewhere. I used to shop at Costco all the time, but discovered that it was less expensive to just buy smaller quantities elsewhere, especially Aldi, and have less waste. Plus I am not tempted to buy stuff I don't need, like a new 24 pack of giant muffins ✅, a new kitchen appliance ✅, or a cedar playground for the kids ✅.

That said, I miss going. Twas always fun (my local store back then wasn't too crowded).

Maple laws extend beyond that, this product is clearly in violation because it does not include artificially flavored in it's title/primary label. Here's the applicable section of the the regulation:

All maple flavored products shall be clearly labeled on their principal display panel

or panels in a manner which will alert the purchaser to the fact that the product

is not a 100 percent pure maple product, in accordance with the Act and other

applicable statutes and regulations.

e. Artificial maple flavored products shall be clearly and conspicuously labeled on their

principal display panel or panels with the term "artificial flavor" shall be of a

size equal to, or larger than, other words used to describe the product. It is

unlawful to use the terms "maple syrup" or "maple sugar,” however modified, to

describe an artificially flavored product*. Any restaurant menu listing such a*

product, or any advertising of such a product shall clearly state that the product is

artificially flavored.

I’ll give you a hint... why would someone who knows the racist origins of the phrase grandfathered in use such an obviously loaded word like chief? Especially in response to someone who openly claims they don’t care the phrase they are using is racist, they plan to keep using it.

I’m really surprised to be honest. You struck me as much more observant.

I laughed audibly - because I do the same thing. I’m not really a people person, so anywhere too many of them congregate make me crusty without good cause. I hear you on this specifically, though. If we go it’s 6pm or after on a Friday night. It’s damn near empty.
