There were zero murders the prior two years and averaging 1 a year for many years before that. Brushing it off as a statistical anomaly is exactly what researchers do when presented with information that doesn’t conform to their views.

If there were 20 murders would you also just call that a statistical anomaly? What type of data do you require?

Edit: god I forgot how awful the people on this sub are. Truly bottom the barrel.

I want to reiterate how horrible the black flies are. Last spring I miserably stood in my driveway being eaten alive talking to my neighbor because it was warm out and we wanted to be outside but we were just getting wrecked. We finally trudged in our own houses, thwarted from enjoying the nice day.

Shoot for after black fly season. Trust us.

What are the causes of this?

Material conditions like wealth inequality, cost of living, drug addiction, mental health issues, etc. Most likely an anomaly, as seeing that previous years nothing has drastically happened to change the material conditions of residents that I listed above. If anything 2020-21 were also anomalies as well given Covid restrictions and the impact that had on society overall.

My husband is a Vermonter, tho he moved away for college in his mid twenties. I’m Swedish and Finnish, spent a year of high school on VT tho, long ago. We’re thinking of moving up there, but currently reside in Virginia. I just wanted to have an idea of what’s going on 🙂

Where I worked, the babies were taken from their mothers within hours of birth and put in little pens and fed milk out of big bottles. The females were raised to be dairy cows and the males were sold to farmers who raised them for meat. It was heartbreaking to hear the babies calling for their mothers in the barn and the mothers calling back. Sometimes the mothers would escape and go looking for their young we would have to round them up and get them back in the barn. Hard.

Highland calves are the cutest animals. I used to live down the street from a farm in Whiting that had a bunc of head of Highland cows and every springs was a treat to see so many little cows with emo haircuts prancing around.
