I think it depends on the place but I know of at least one that pays in the $20-25/hr range and has full time employees. I don't work there so I do not want to talk about other ppls business too much. Not sure if they are providing benefits.

You talk about adapting to the changing planet but we can’t, climate change is not a benefit. You talked about climate change opening up parts of the world for agriculture but you’re making a big assumption that those areas are suitable for agriculture. The reality is we are fucked on a global scale the upside is New England is projected to be one of the better places to ride it out. That said if you have land preparing for the future would be a good idea, get some fruit and nut trees in the ground if you don’t already have some and get a big garden going. I don’t know about you but the price of produce is becoming problematic so I produce my own.

38F and rain is some form of purgatory. I will take just about any conditions over this.

Dude.. gtfoh with that not seeing beyond your town bs, we live in the information age and i dont need to waste time or money traveling to learn about the greater world. that is so 19th century thinking, lol.
I know, im terrible for not wanting to wreck the developed economies of the world; that i dare to think humanity should ,yes do what we can to move away from FF, *also adapt to the changing planet instead of foolishly trying to lock it into one static climatic state forever.

Big ops were boiling on new years this year. Small ops probably weren't ready to roll yet and/or didn't get enough sap to boil.
Edit: short answer: if it's below freezing at night and above freezing during the day sap will run. Trees don't have calendars.

The same state where a ton of farmers jumped into CBD hemp with both feet and a ton got burned?
We all love weed, we agree. But everyone loves Chik-fil-A too and if tomorrow every town in Vermont suddenly had like 3 Chik-fil-A's you could be forgiven for being like "hmmm I'm not sure if this is going to work out for all of them"

Not sure why you’re being downvoted. I’m all for more locations and competition, but over saturation combined with insanely high prices (caused both by limited access and excessive taxation) could spell trouble for these businesses. I don’t want to see them fail, but right now it’s still cheaper to drive to MA and stock up than pay these prices that are nearly double.

Agreed on all counts and you have this situation pegged fairly, I’d say. I also happen to be an artist and graphic designer by trade and agree that AI art could absolutely be an amazing tool for artists. We happen to love reference material and those things can spit out some gnarly reference material. It can also be an amazing tool for getting some luls and likes on social media. The issue is that corpos might start using it instead of hiring human beings like me. I’m one of the lucky ones with a fairly secure position in my field, but I know a lot of artists that are very not ok with the new advances in AI art software and are growing concerned for the future.

Your ignorance is astounding and I’m sad to say I’ve seen a lot of it in the state. seems like something that comes about when people live isolated and don’t see outside of their own little town.

I was just about to say; right near Kitty Korner and a deli, not impossibly far from the Meltdown. They know what they’re doing.
