Just withdraw cash from an ATM after you cross the border.

That’s awesome. Wish they still did that. Would be a great fundraiser to raise money for rink operations/ paying Zamboni drivers.

Well, it would just be called 289 following interstate naming conventions, which you presumably know. What with showing off 489.

289 was supposed to be your proposed 489, but it was never finished.

I graduated in 78 so it had to be 1976? I have a photo somewhere that was in the Herald. Don't hold be to exact date. I'm old now haha

Yeah Canadian retailers shouldn’t have any problems accepting it and your bank exchanges it automatically. At least my CBNA does, at 1%

24 hour skate a thon? Sounds awesome. Wish I was around for that. When did they do that?

That's an awesome memory about the Swedish fish! I missed the leaky roof. Great memories there though. I remember doing a 24 hour skate a thon!

That's a huge shame. I only had one experience there, a buddy took me out last summer/fall one day with his gf. We had a great time just cruising around, and it was not an expensive experience either. Big loss for the area.

I can't remember the last time the lake froze. 2013-14 maybe.

Misread the original comment, thought they were saying spartan folded.. phew. Miss playing at Mandingo. Was awesome until the roof leaked at center ice. Brought back a lot of memories of collecting pucks for free Swedish fish, and ripping pucks in the far right corner of the rink.

It is the Spartan Arena now yes you are correct. I grew up in Rutland and was there when they built Mandigo on the fairgrounds in 70s. Previously we used the cow barn.
Which now makes me think I forgot Pine Hill Park in Rutland too.

I never have had issues with my metal roof and gutters and snowguards. But when we went from regular shingle to metal last year, we needed all new gutters bc of the way the roof was installed and the way the gutters (new ones) need to sit. Everything looks great now - our gutters are a lot less noticeable now and i love it lol

I have a metal roof and gutters. They are installed in a special/different way that tucks them under from damage but you still should have gutters.

I’d be far more concerned that the snow would tear them off when it releases off the standing seam roof...Water on the other hand tends to drop pretty much vertical off the edge of the roof, and into the gutters...there’s a sweet spot where sliding snow will pass over the top of the gutter, but liquid water will drop right into them. I’m just trying to get a read on what that distance is.

Those are the spaced L brackets that are glued on? Can you overload a roof weight capacity since the snow can't slide off?
