If possible you probably still want to hook the house to the power grid. I know people with pretty large solar arrays that still don't make enough to power their house in the winter.

Running a house entirely on a generator is just stupid and bad for the environment. Don't do this just because you want to live a specific lifestyle

Ottawa is a lovely place to visit for a weekend. I've made 3 separate trips in the past 6 or 7 years. I've been twice in May and once in November. I can fully recommend the Canadian War Museum, Air and Space Museum, National Gallery of Canada, and Ottawa Senators NHL Hockey. Walking along the Ottawa River and along the Rideau Canal is lovely too.

I can also fully recommend Quebec City as well. Lovely shops, great restaurants, very scenic. Old town is very easy to walk around.

The best part of this? I mean other than the really quite lovely writing? You could’ve written this 25 years ago because you just sent me back to college in the 90s. So many visits to Henry’s in last night’s clothing. And it really was a reverent atmosphere that early.

Thanks for that.

Everything is about race because white people made it that way. You can't just ignore our country's entire racist history and decide that discussing the very real wounds that are NOT healed is "driving wedges" in any kind of good faith manner. YOU are free to pretend it's "over" and we should "move on" and unite, because you come from a place of privilege, even if it's unacknowledged.
If I was strangling you, and told you to get over it without removing my hands from your neck, that your complaining makes things worse... how would you feel? Or if I stopped strangling you and instead of getting you help, or allowing you to seek that help yourself, I told you, "shut up, you're fine, it's over," would you be so quick to put that history in the past and move on?
Please understand that the wounds of racism are not healed, and recognizing those wounds only "makes things worse" for those who inflicted them.

This menu has so much more than the one I have. Their food definitely became more and more mediocre as time passed. In the early to mid-80s, I loved eating there. We used to go from the bank to Carburs a lot for lunches in the late 80s, early 90s. But a few years before they shut down, they definitely weren't the same.

At some point, I can circle back and do so. I have a scanner, but it's not set up right now, so it would have to be photos from a phone. The link below isn't the one I have. The one I have is smaller and has a section of alcoholic beverages. I think the date on it was 1980.

Please don't be this disingenuous. What should be, and what is, in this country, are VERY different things. No, we should not be judged by the color of our skin, but we are. Constantly. And to not acknowledge that fact demonstrates either profound ignorance or possibly an issue with character - which you admit is how we should be judged.

When and how do you think the clerks will be able to prove nothing is missing from the records? If you do a ‘full search’ in one of these towns now, how can you be sure it is a ‘full search’ since now you know someone has been in there playing around with the records!? How do we know the hackers didn’t delete any and all irs liens for example. This is my concern…

I have a roof top solar system and a Tesla powerwall. Sun common installed it. Works great as a back up but it’s not capable of being completely off grid during winter months. I’m not super knowledgeable on what it would take to be totally off grid but probably a lot if you live a modern lifestyle. The main problem being the limited amounts of sun we get in the winter. Like I said depends on your lifestyle, needs and how you heat and cook in your home but you will most likely need a lot of batteries plus a large solar array to be completely off grid during the winter in VT. If you have a small cabin and just want the lights on it would be different. But using your dryer, refrigerator, wifi, tv and lights at the same time on an cloudy December day will require a lot of battery back up because the sun probably won’t provide enough energy to do it.
