Mid May through June is the best season for dry fly fishing in my opinion.

I haven't hired guides through the fly rod shop (in Stowe), but I have hired their guides for fly casting lessons before a big fishing trip, and they seem really cool. I'd definitely fish with them.

Hmm, I bet this is an immature bald, this time of year is when second year Bald eagles begin to morph and the under tail looking so white from the base of the tail is indicative of that. Not saying it isn't cuz it's hard to tell from the photos but given there are a lot of balds in that area, my vote is still immature bald. Nice catch on the camera though!

Runamok is the move for neat gifts. Unfortunately you won't find what you're looking for at the price you're looking at.

We don't produce our own but our neighbor taps almost 1000 of our trees and gives us syrup (and some cash) in return. He just gives me gallon jugs, and while I do basically drink the stuff I have to try to go through a gallon in a year. So we are left with usually a half dozen gallons or so of syrup which is way more than we need.

So what we do is have a day sometime between Thanksgiving and Christmas where my wife and I have drinky poos, we warm up a shitload of the sryup in a giant carafe, and then we aliquot it off into smaller more decorative bottles.

This year we gave syrup to everyone in our immediate and extended family, all of my employees, and all of my wife's employees. It was over 60 12oz bottles. Final cost for us was something like $2/bottle but that's because the syrup was free. I honestly have no clue what a gallon of syrup would cost you (depends on many things) but I can buy one from my neighbor for about $40-$50 depending on the season. That will make 10 12oz bottles. So you're looking at about $7 per bottle in that case which isn't bad.

Lol I can hear your whitness. I have no problem with a more expensive work but well done. All contractors that I saw their work was badly done, No pride on their craft or anything plus was 3 times more. U guys should demand more value for your money. Mexico is not responsible for contractors in the East coast not being able to do the work and feeling entitled. Lol 😆 😆 😆

Most of the local TV stations (WCAX 3, WPTZ 5, WVNY 22, WNNE 31, WETK 33, WFFF 44) transmit from the summit of Mount Mansfield. The only one that doesn't is WCFE 57 which is located on Lyon Mountain.

The antenna burned in the fire which took 3, 5, and 31 off the air has been replaced and those signals are back at full power.

The ABC station (WVNY 22) transmits on VHF channel 7 (all the others are on UHF) and may benefit from a different (and larger) antenna than what works for the other channels.

Used to have an antenna and pointed it at Mansfield. Worked pretty good. Took it down to paint but never put it back.

There was a fire on Mansfield that impacted the signal strength a few years ago, but not sure if it's been fixed

My teens tell me that EF and CV are pretty notorious for racist bs at games. I don't know what the school can do about the parents other than ban them from games after the fact, but I respect the kids for saying fuck that we're not going there. It's more than they should have to put up with over a game.

Good to know! A decent solution if you're far from a grid tie in (especially now when running wire is so expensive - maybe even a good temporary solution while we hope and wait for the price of that to go down).

OP, the biggest issue you may run into with this build is almost every lender will require you to be on grid. I believe some people on this sub before have listed some smaller local banks that may fund a project like this.
