Yep. My GPS announced “Welcome to Vermont” when I did. :)

And you're 100% sure you hadn't crossed the state line? ;-)

I know we’re a desirable bunch, but are we getting that lucky?

Interesting idea, but it was both sides of the road.

I found this interesting article that seems to explain it. Taxes, registration costs, etc. I sure hope that guy wasn’t peeping in my window and taking notes while I was there last week. :)

"The Vermont registration process, also known as the Vermont title loophole, has been used to get a title for a vehicle even if the owner resides out of state. No other state offers this type of title method, especially not for out-of-state residents."

Could you oblige by translating a bit of that academic jargon into nice plain English that will invite people to action?
I notice that when anyone tries that on threads like this people get "turned off" the same or worse.

Perhaps their property extends beyond the VT-NY border and they have a choice? Many of the properties there are large and deep.

Vermont has been very good to me and my family. I came up here after leaving the military in 1981 and never doubted this is where I belong.
Having said that, Vermont is populated by humans. There is nothing uniquely Vermont about Vermonters other then the fact we're from the state of Vermont.
What's important to you?

Yup, I’ve listened to a 25 minute discussion about the town paying for the laundering of the 4 man road crews uniform shirts and wether we should pay for it or not. Democracy is pretty boring to watch sometimes.

Nope. My point is that if you want more people to listen to what you have to say (especially on something important like making people feel welcome in all parts of their country) you should find language that invites people to action instead of language that turns people off. Then they might listen to what you're saying. Or you could just stand your ground, use the same language and reach a smaller audience. Which will get more results?

How many times do I have to say this, its not the birds that concern me. It's the contaminated water. Ill give you that outdoor cats are pretty far down the list of things that need to change ASAP to keep our waters clean, but its also by far the easiest.
Also, thank you for giving them a loving home. That is more important than anything else, it would just be nice if people would keep a handle on them to avoid contamination of our waters.

People are looking to change the fact that many Americans do not feel welcome in parts of their own country but they are using annoying jargon therefore us white people are excused from paying attention.
