The new hotel compromised the space behind the post office so trucks can’t get in and out. The area will be fixed but it will take time (about 6 months). Essex is going to pick up Williston’s delivery service in the meantime.

You know that shit is top notch too, I've never been at a place that shuts their counter down after selling out that didn't have absolutely bananas food.

I'm down in Texas and we have several BBQ joints like that. My brother used to know this old man named N.O. that did it this way. He'd be out at the ass crack of dawn with the smoker he ran through the night, and you best get there and get in that line if you wanted anything. He retired some years ago, and nobody has filled his place because it's damn near impossible. Bet this little lady with her curries will be the same way.

Exactly. It is shameful. Don't forget that DeJoy owns a business that would profit considerably from USPS privatization.

The article below was recently published in VT Digger about post office problems although this one is limited to Hinesburg.

She closes when she sells out of her dishes for the day. Its not a typical restaurant in the sense that she has open hours; when her daily made curry is gone, its off the menu for the day. She does not make another batch until the next day. At least that's how it used to be.

I'm sure with a bit of Googling, you'll find dozens of reviews that are all basically saying the same thing- "I can't believe I found Indian food this good and authentic in f**king Barre". The plates are around $16-20 but it's totally worth it

Both my sister and I have older camrys. Hers is a 2004 with studded tires. She traveled every day from Middlebury to Rutland Hospital with no issues. Mine is a little newer as a 2013. I live in the NEK now in Island Pond. I have Bridgestone Blizzaks. I have absolutely no issues up here. Obviously I'm smart about it but it goes up my friends steep driveway and we have plenty of dirt roads. Plus most cars have low gear that helps slow you down without jamming on brakes. For gosh sakes I delivered for Domino's off Williston Rd in the 80s with a VW Rabbit. You'll be fine if you are careful. If anyone is looking for a sweet Civic, Brighton Garage has one with a set of new snows. Craig is super honest.

Had a manual ‘07 Civic for years while living in Burlington and the surrounding area. It’s did fine with snow tires in the winter. Snow tires are the key!

If you want something that will get you to the mountains during a snowstorm, it might not be the best choice. Otherwise you’ll be fine.

It's not just Williston. You can thank Louis DeJoy, the orange man for appointing him, and the decades of Republicans in Congress trying to privatize the post office by saddling it with debt. This has been their goal for years and it's now really affecting on the ground deliveries.
