I highly recommend trying for your master’s if that is something you can attain. The only teacher I know who doesn’t have a roommate or a second job has their masters in Special Ed. But I think that is the same case in almost every state as our government is slowly crumbling at the top and in some states.

My friends in education all have at least 1 side gig: bartending, tutoring (remote or in-person), cleaning (AirBnB), or seasonal instructing (snow sports). In the summer, a lot paint or work in trades.

It's a shame that such a necessary profession pays so poorly.

Yet another reason to be a responsible adult and research where to get employment. I’m not saying racism doesn’t exist, but honestly I just moved to New England and unless you live under a rock anyone would know it’s the least racist part of the US. Besides I really am annoyed by people who make it an issue when it’s not! Vermont an ambiguously racist state? Really!? Stop manufacturing racism! Get it out of your head and it will stop.

If they did just the transfer waiting period and the ban for hate crime perps, this would seem more sensible. Making it harder for people to legally defend themselves seems weird given the recent increase in violence. I don’t even own a gun and I don’t like this.

No sales tax but plenty of registration fees. I sure don't feel free every year my car registration comes due. And the property taxes....i always laugh...live free or die, and no legal weed, meanwhile every state bordering us has legal weed. Makes sense, right?

I understand that many VT gun owners consider themselves left of center, maybe classically liberal like I do, but you have to be honest with yourselves how far to the left the mainstream ideas of leftist politicians have shifted. The legislative assault against the ability to defend ourselves are core motivations for democrats and progressives. Increasingly I feel as though the political middle ground is shifting to the left beneath my feet. Vote for principles not parties.

In your first paragraph, you’re asking logic of the illogical, which is why your search will be probably be fruitless. People obsessed with genitalia under the guise of “protecting the kids” are fucked in the head.

Your second paragraph links at least three separate discussions and advances three off-putting conclusions

  1. you seem to hand-wavingly suggest that transition hormones or chemicals would clearly confer an athletic advantage: [citation needed]

  2. you suggest someone would transition solely or principally the purpose of competing in a sport. Putting aside how offensive this could be to all concerned, how do you propose to test someone’s authenticity of transition? It’s rhetorical, you’re not qualified, and neither is anyone’s coach or judging official

  3. asking a sporting event or organization to dole out fairness on society’s behalf is too much. It’s a helluva corrupt forum.
