I've taken a boat from Burlington through Sorel before, and the issues you may run into are the locks in St. Jean. I'm not sure if kayaks are allowed in the canal here, they time boats in the canal so that they meet up in wide spots.

And to expand on how us people are, we aren’t super friendly but if you’re in trouble we’ll go out of our way to help you out. We drink a little too much and argue about which county makes the best syrup (it’s orange country fyi, best soil) we don’t like seeing cars with plates that aren’t green or from Maine (but we’ll still help you out if you get stuck) we’ll tell you not to use GPS if you ask for directions and give you a long winded explanation on how to get somewhere involving landmarks that haven’t been there for 20 years. That makes sense! I usually only make 1-2 portions at a time so it's not been an issue, but if it's something you make regularly or in large quantities then it's worth the drawer space!
