This is literally instant runoff. That's all. It's simple and it works. Ask Maine.

$1,222 fine is too soft. Folks that arbitrarily shoot animals are scum of the earth.

In my area at least, forced air furnace systems seem to be rare. A lot of homes have multi-zone boiler/radiator setups. Regardless, any of the trades you listed are needed up here.

Violates a federal protection act. It is a federal felony. As poaching should be.

What reason do you think that for?

Are there any strip clubs in Vermont? I haven't seen any now that you mention it.

Cost isn’t a factor in elections, if it was we would mass mail out ballots.
The democratic process is voting as a civic duty. If you can’t get an absentee ballot or make it to the polls it’s clearly not an important issue yo you🤷🏼♂️ and voters who aren’t informed or don’t care is what’s killing the democratic process.

The first week of January could be anything. This year I went golfing on New Year’s Day in long sleeves and had a blast. It might be snowy…it might be 50 degrees. It could also be bare ass grass and minus 20.

People having to go to the polls multiple times for one election kills the democratic process. Most people already find it obnoxious finding the time once. Ranked choice is one and done. It’s much more cost effective.

I think someone who’s hyper patriotic would do this tbh. They see it, think man I’d be so patriotic if I had a bald eagle in my room. Clear (ly stupid) line of thought

I think shooting a bird isn’t enough to warrant jail time but like, a hefty fine yea.

As far as I understand it, the goal is to encourage people to vote without party-based momentum getting in the way of their actual preferences. But I agree, I don’t like party affiliations either.

It seems to me like you vote for the candidate you prefer most. If no one gets a majority, you have a runoff and do the same thing again. It’s simple and it works.
If you want to encourage the “will of the people” remove party affiliation from all ballots.

how do you figure? it seems to me like making 3rd party options more viable gives way to more representation of the will of the people.

All trades are in demand. Licensure for plumbers and electricians especially is necessary and extensive. Carpenters are not required to be licensed.

All trades are in desperate demand here but the pay rates seem to be much lower than in other parts of the country. Maybe an HVAC tech or electrician can chime in?

The trend is towards heat pumps now that their performance at low temps have improved. Also, retrofitting new heat pumps using existing ductwork.
You will be needed up here.
Many Vermonters want to shift off fossil fuels so going all electric or solar is popular.

Some hunters unfortunately love poaching for their own gain though. A pretty common one is a specific age of old deer hunters will illegaly shoot coyotes and other large predators in states that have them because they are "doe killers"
