That's what this is for. If something is bring joy to us, we want to share it. If something is bringing pain to us, we still want to share it. That's like asking not to keep posting about how beautiful the mountains are because someone's already said it.

Great but just filling this thread with repetitive posts isn’t the way. I doubt anyone reading your post is thinking ‘oh I didn’t realize this was annoying people - next time I’ll be adjusting my habits’.

Most ‘offenders’ don’t care at all and like one poster in this thread posted about ‘X-ray blinding people’ reaffirms my suspicion .

Again, multiple posts whining about the same issue DOES make this whole subreddit seem like all it is doing is being negative. The fact that people are downvoting me shows that a lot of people on this subreddit make it toxic.

A lot of states headlight rules are from pre LED days, so they just say like 55watt max for headlights. But 55watts of LED is a lot more than 55watts of incandescent bulbs, hah. I did recently pick up some retna pealer 5000's from the local junk store, but they were new in box, for $5, with new pigtail wiring harnesses, and they are the right size for my hoopty f550 farm truck, but don't worry, it just gets used on the farm, or to pull neighbors out of the ditch within a mile of my house on our dirt road, hah, hopefully won't peal any retnae, retnas?

This morning there were three cars in the oncoming traffic. The middle one high-beamed me (and the vehicle in front of him, plus the two cars behind me). I didn't have my high beams on, but the guy behind me had those "bright" looking lights (I didn't think they were bad at all). So yeah, just high beam everyone when you think one guy has their high beams on (even when they don't).

Or they just have a newer truck with LED headlights. I get flashed occasionally by people thinking my high-beams are on when they aren't. I feel bad but I also get a kick out of giving them an x-ray with the real high-beams.

Edit: To be clear my truck is completely unaltered. The headlights are that way from the factory.

Edit 2: To be more clear my headlights don't need to be adjusted they are just bright

I'm almost certain that we do have an improper lighting statute that this would fall under. It could also be used as suspicion of drunk driving and be probable cause for a stop.

As for the light bars, most are not DOT approved, and sold as off road only, meaning that anyone using them on road could be cited if caught.

Just because it's negative or you don't like it doesn't mean some of the offenders arnt seeing this at this very moment. If I can have one person take thier highs off from reading this I've done my part. With a subreddit for a state, you've got to expect both good and bad. This isn't rhappygoluckyvermont.

This is not the first post complaining about people keeping their high beams on. Nor is it the first post complaining about ‘bad Vermont drivers’. OP - not sure what you are trying to accomplish, but posting here isn’t going to change anything. How about attending your local town meeting and bringing it up there ? All I see posts like this doing is just bringing more negativity to this subreddit.
