That’s because they live in New York City, one of the very highest priced housing markets in the country. I don’t get much for my about $6500 in taxes a year here since I work and don’t have kids but I understand that those taxes are necessary.

If there's any species that can survive Vermont winters, it's the eastern gray squirrel.

I saw Slayer around then at Memorial Auditorium. I think they were with Testament. It was scheduled though.

Thanks! Planning on bringing blankets, just worried about the car functioning properly in the temps.

I think our property taxes are pretty reasonable. I have family members in the NYC area who pay $30,000 in property taxes for very average homes. Sure the schools are better, but you pay a lot more.

It's like when building a house when people see all the framing up and go, "Wow, the house is going up quickly!"
No, the frame is up, the most basic and quick part of building a house. It looks like a house, but its extremely far from being livable.

Its actually not entirely sensational. Its pretty useful for like hiking or spending time in the mountains. Wind chill factor can really make a difference for getting frostbite on exposed skin

In many ways I feel like an electric motorcycle makes much more sense in many situations than an electric car. [personal opinion] looks fantastic. Enjoy!

Not for st. J. Not entirely rare to spend an entire month bouncing between -10 and -20 in the NEK. It's pretty standard weather. Just extra warm this year.

Eh dont listen to them. Most vermonters are actively doing something to prepare for it. School got canceled Its actually pretty cold for VT. people on this sub are just playing the whole tough vermonter character.
Air temps are around -20 which isn't really fuck around weather.

I can see not feeding bears, but depending on where you are, some squirrels exist on bird food. I feel like feeding a city squirrel isn't a big deal. Could be wrong.

I’m still laughing, also IMO the constant reporting of wind chill instead of temperature is just sensational journalism. Like sure, there’s a windchill when you’re standing in the middle of the field, but get in the woods or alongside a building and there isn’t.

Its actually pretty severe as far as VT weather goes. Its not really going to be one of those sunny still below zero days we are used to. Its going to be more insane winds and ridiculously low wind chill factors that can give you frostbite within minutes. School is already closed for most of the state. Its not really weather to fuck around in.

Cool! I’m so torn on various e-motos. I’d love to hear what you think when you get some miles in. FortNine really dug the Metacycle, but I’m not sold it’s the one I’d pull the trigger on

It will probably be fine in its burrow. There are squirrels that live in pretty harsh alpine environments here and do fine.

Hey don't worry about it. They are made for this stuff.
Little chipmunks and squirrel do some psuedo hibernation in the winter, if they are well fed, they develop brown fat tissue that feeds them while they shut their body down. Heart rate slows, body temperature of the little fella can go down to 40F, sometimes lower.
There bodies are made for it. A well fed one will make it through comfortably.

Don't feed em though, not ideal but I get it
