Good luck getting any of that with Phil Scott as Governor.

The privatization of education is an existential threat to the United States as a whole.

For sure, and at those temperatures, probably not much different than the heat pumps!

Does anyone believe that Stenger didn't know? I certainly believe he knew!

If you already have Verizon just get visible. You will not regret it

Maybe a goldfinch and a house finch?
PerennialPangolin t1_j799sya wrote
I would guess either purple finch or house finch, but try asking over at r/whatsthisbird — those folks really know their stuff!

I'm in southern VT and service is great down here. Better than my Verizon work phone. I get coverage on Fi all the way up route 30, Verizon drops off before you hit Dummerston.

Not to mention that snow starts to sound like Styrofoam when you step on it.

It happens. Certain kinds of trees are more susceptible to it. Sounds like anything from a gunshot, a loud cracking noise, to popping the cork off a wine bottle. It’s just rare-er in VT.

I cooked for over half my life. I bet the highest they’d offer me is $17 with no benefits, and I’d have to open my schedule to them. While doing everything above a line cook’s responsibilities.
That sign on bonus is bogus, they never pay. Unless you get cash in hand that day? You’ll get screwed out somehow. You didn’t work enough hrs/you missed a day/they hired more people and aren’t desperate anymore so fuck you. Almost as dirty as putting “hiring sous chef” in the ad and saying “well actually we just want a cook”.
Nah. Get any other job. Anything that values experience. The culinary industry spends so much time telling everyone they suck, that they’re actually surprised no one wants to be abused for a shit living. If they’re advertising on Reddit?! Eek. Red Flag. Do something better with your life kids.

I saw one of these today as well, it was not the purple but the brown and I also wondered what it was. I though maybe a junko but it was too big for that. At first I thought pigeon because of the size. If nobody here answers I have sent pictures to the UVM ornithology department and they have identified birds for me.

I didn’t see any yellow or gold, but the sun was very bright. They were large for finches. After online reading my wife thinks it may be a flock of Pine Grossbeak. I hope they stick around, they were lovely.

Hard to tell - did they have a yellowish tint? Looks like some kind of finch. Gold finch? They lose their gold in the Winter.

Unfortunately as we have seen the last 2 years, when low and middle class people make more, businesses charge more to funnel that back to the top, when businesses charge more, the goal line moves and living wage calculations go up.

Our first year we moved here, next to a lake, the first winter we heard weird, unearthly noises. Like deep, subterranean gurgles, bloops, and high pitched cracks. Locals told us it was the frozen lake.

That's cool, it was about 2 years ago that I had it, so they must have improved since then. Good to know!
