You have that reversed. I'm the one saying "we should protect the integrity of women's sports" and "women should have shelters where they don't have to deal with men" while you are the one saying "males should be allowed to play on female only teams!" "Males should be allowed to go to women's shelters!"

An LLC does not obsolve landlords of liability- they are still on the hook for damages and can be forced to sell the rental to pay damages to a renter. Most mom and pop landlords in VT use LLC’s so they don’t lose everything if someone slips and falls on some ice at their rental house and insurance doesn’t cover the damages. They would just lose their entire business, but in theory it protects the house they live in and other separate assets. The same way it is with a restaurant owner or grocery store owner or any other LLC business.

How can someone use an LLC as a means to avoid paying taxes? I understand there are bad actors at all levels, but what about an LLC specifically makes someone more likely to commit tax evasion?

I don't think that is what was happening here either, that is why I kept my points general. In this specific case I agree with the criticism of the police officer: cops can have opinions but it is in bad taste to air them publicly.

I think we get too caught up in specific instances. We have to ask ourselves "is the concept of female only changing areas a hateful, bigoted idea or is it based out of legitimate concerns?"

TBF if you were an adult back then it was a huge story all across New England what around 100 people died from that fire all over not just one small town. It's pretty fucked to call what happened a small town story. In four days it would have been 20 years ago and most certainly a few of those victims were Vermonter's.

BFP still sucks though.

A citizen publicly expressed generally conservative views regarding preferential subject treatment in a neutral learning environment....proceeds to get threatened to lose his job.

I'm sorry folks, I know it's easy to pile onto this guy. But, looking at 30 years of police work and scraping to find two stops where he may have treated a male passenger different than a women is, well, a nothingburger. If you're trying to skew someone like this guy as a villain, you need to reassess your outrage.

It wasn't long ago, at all, where the scientific concensus on Trans was "body dismorphia." Don't forget this guy's age. He grew up in a totally different Era, and doesn't subscribe to the new train of theory on the subject.

That's basically freedom of expression.

The real story is they took actions to prevent the use of the terminals ON drones. Ukraine had been hacking them and mounting them on long range tu-?? soviet era drones so they could have an about infinite range and were attacking airbases inside Russia. They never wanted it to become a weapon. Military coms was one thing but actually making starlink a part of a weapons system was too much. I applaud the stance they have taken.

Gotcha ya that switch is called the gateway or more like the brain really and NOT cheap!. It has a cellular connection as well as wifi and ethernet. As it's leased some options are N/A but you can log into it pretty easy just type it's ip and enter your tesla password and you can see real time usage and as it stays on the LAN you can still use it that way if your internet is out unlike the app.

AirBnB is the problem. Too many homes are rented two weekends per month to party groups instead of being available for residents. All home rentals should be monthly. Daily and weekly rentals should be illegal or taxed so high that they are discouraged.

They can have property managers, that has nothing to do with it. An LLC gives them zero liability or personal responsibility over any damages and any financial fall out. It also allows them to launder money via the property owned. The US is the largest money laundering hub in world and property is a great way for people to do it. If people couldn’t own property through their LLCs, they wouldn’t be able to utilize it as a means to launder money, exit money, or use it as a means to avoid paying taxes.
